Prophet Mohammed ran away from his assailants, he had to run as fast as his horse and atimes, as his legs could carry him,leaving his father’s house in Mecca to his mother’s house in Medina. What a long journey, about seven hundred kilometres. One would have expected he would draw out his dagger and slaughter all these traducers of his. And God Himself was looking at him, He refused to deal with his transgressors, what a totally meek God,afteral He sent this prophet on an errand!
Prophet Jesus, ran away from Jerusalem, his people were not satisfied with his revolutionary approach to their religion, they adhered strictly to the Mosaic laws. Why should this child of an ordinary carpenter come around to change the course of our religion? They queried his audacity. The more he educated them,the more the hatred. At the point of his arrest, somebody drew out his sword and caught the ear of one of the assailants, Jesus gently picked the ear and perfectly fixed it back to the head. Instead of the people to run away with the fear of the new wonder,no, they proceeded to nail him on the cross!
Wicked souls!! The God that sent him did not descend from heaven to rain fire on them!!!
Over two thousand years after, at a country called Nigeria, very far away from the Middle East of the world, where the stories told above happened , some foolish people believe they must fight for Mohammed, precisely in the northern part of that country. Anybody who fails to say Peace upon Him at the mere mention of the name Mohammed, has committed blasphemy, and the penalty is death!
Deborah Yakubu,a student at a College of Education in Sokoto merely protested that the WhatsApp group of her department was being turned to preaching the gospel according to Mohammed, instead of giving gists on academic issues, her penalty was to be burnt and roasted alive!!!
Are we sure those perpetrating these dastardly acts are human beings, are we sure they’re not animals in human skin? Check it, when they talk of fundamentalists fomenting and committing heinous crimes in the north, they are usually associated with Islam, ISWAP, BOKOHARAM and what have you.
I’m expecting the Grand Council of Islamic Affairs to enlighten us if this is the rule in Islam. I’m expecting MURIC to now understand why the South is clamouring for restructuring, so that those in the north can live a life of religion as they so desire and the south can remain liberal in their disposition to religious affairs.
