2023: Oyo Political Heads Drum Support For Makinde’s Reelection, Laud On Developmental Projects

The Political Heads in 35 Local Council Development Areas(LCDAs) across Oyo State have shown eagerness and readiness over possibility of Governor Seyi Makinde’s second term of office.

Hon. Adigun Tajudeen Adeniyi, Chairman of the forum and Political Head, Ibadanwest LCDA and Hon. Fasasi Raheem Ajibola(FM), Secretary and Political Head, Iseyinsouth LCDA made their position on reelection of Makinde known, shortly after their monthly meeting held at Iseyinsouth secretariat on Thursday, May 5, 2022.

While fielding questions from journalists, Hon Tajudeen Adeniyi lauded Makinde on attainment of notable developmental projects made across the nooks and crannies of pacesetter state, maintaining that he deserves second term of office, having shown leadership qualities and his readiness to serve the good people of Oyo State.

Adeniyi stressed that Makinde has been doing well on areas of road constructions, educational improvement and zero payment of school fees, agric business and other areas of human capital development respectively.

He reiterated that their meeting was meant to show appreciation over unprecedented feats he had attained and equally throw weight behind him over fruition of his second term of office.

On allegation of imposition of candidates in Oyo PDP levelled against Makinde, Adeniyi however disclosed that the governor had never imposed any candidate on other aspirants and party at large, stressing that Makinde sees more than others and that was why such decision was taken in order to avert unforseen circumstances.

In his own submission, FM disclosed that the communique arrived at, at the end of the meeting was premised on their unanimous support towards the possibility of Makinde’s second term of office.

Adding that, the meeting which had attendance of Chairmen, Vice Chairmen, all their wives and other notable stakeholders was geared towards the sensitisation of all eligible voters on the receipt and revalidation of permanent voters’ cards(PVCs) for reelection of Makinde and other PDP candidates at the general elections slated for 2023.

FM stressed that they are firmly in support of Makinde’s second term of office and they have set the necessary logistics in place which would soon be kick started for feasibility of the election.

He however thanked him for perfect overhauling and restructure of the local governments, which in return bringing development and growth to people at the rural areas.

Adding that, part of their efforts shortly after the meeting was visitation to ongoing Iseyin-Ogbomoso road where commendation and encomiums were lavished on the governor for prioritising the linked roads which make the geopolitical zones(Ibadan, Ogbomoso, Oyo, OkeOgun and Ibarapa) accessible to one another in pacesetter state.

FM however debunked an allegation of imposition of candidates levelled against Makinde, stressing that he aimed at having the same replica of consensus arrangement attained at last PDP national convention.

He described Makinde as exponent of democratic game whose words and expressions are usually in tandem with democratic tenets.
