The serving Senator representing Oyo North Senatorial District and Governorship Aspirant under the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr Buhari Abdulfatai (Ph.D) has declared that the insinuation that he will decamp to People’s Democratic Party was an expensive joke from the party’s leaders and the Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde.
Senator Buhari made this known in various telephone conversations with journalists who sought his clarification on the alleged moves by PDP to woo the lawmaker to the ruling party in Oyo State.
According to him, it was true that efforts were being made by some leaders of the party who thought they could take advantage of his amiable human relations not minding their political differences to drag the legislator to PDP.
“That I will decamp to PDP now that my chances of being the flag bearer of APC in the 2023 contest is very high, is nothing but an unrealistic dream”, Senator Buhari disclosed.
The Oyo North Senatorial Seat occupier however said truly APC in Oyo State is having issues but he is confident that with efforts being put in place in recent times, the issues shall be laid to rest and the party will become stronger ahead of 2023 polls.
He admonished APC stakeholders and members in Oyo State to be calmed and never succumbed to unnecessary pressures from any quarters as such often times resulted to regrets.
It shall be recalled that it was on the news yesterday that PDP in Oyo State had allegedly vowed to win the heart of Senator Buhari to decamp from APC to PDP having successfully done that for Engr. Joseph Tegbe.
