A grassroot politician and chieftain of New Nigeria People’s Party ( NNPP) in Oyo state, Alhaji Adebisi AbdulRasheed Adeyemi Olopoeyan has commiserated with the people of Oyo town, Oyomesi, Oyo State traditional council, Yoruba race and the immediate Royal family of Adeyemi over the demise of the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi Olayiwola III.

In his condolence message, Olopoeyan discribed late Oba Adeyemi as a traditional ruler who would be sorely missed for his bravery, support and wise counsel.

According to Olopoeyan” It’s hard to believe that Alaafin, Oba Adeyemi is no more, he left us unnoticed.”

“I have a robust relationship with Alaafin during his life time, I always learn new things from him, anytime I visited him at the palace, he is the only one that enjoy calling me Adeyemi, now, no one to call me with the name. I will personally miss his experience and fatherly role.”

Olopoeyan noted that the late Alaafin made a remarkable impact, leaving some enviable legacies for Oyo town and the traditional institutions expecially in Yorubaland.

” He is so compassionate about culture and traditions, conversant with modern history, 100 years is too short to replace Oba Adeyemi, an encyclopedia of knowledge.

“Let’s thank Almighty Allah for his glorious, well spent life, he has reigned gloriously. Iku Babayeye left behind good legacies, he is not only a monarch during his life time, he was a ruler per excellent, he kept the tradition and culture of the Yoruba alive. I pray for his eternal repose.” he concluded.

Olopoeyan thereafter prayed for the soul of the departed monarch, for the family, Oyo mesi, people of Oyo town, Oyo state and Nigerian to have the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
