Alaafin’s Demise: It Painful, We Have Lost A Custodian Of Tradition — POJ, Oyo Guber Hopeful

Oyo New Nigeria People’s Party ( NNPP )’s governorship aspirant, Engr. Popoola Olukayode Joshua ( POJ) has described the death of Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III as a great loss to Oyo state in particular and Nigeria in general.

The 83 years first class King, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III from the Alowodu Ruling House died in the late hours of Friday at the Afe Babalola University Teaching Hospital, Ado Ekiti and buried on Saturday afternoon in Oyo according to Ismamic rites.

POJ in a condolence message personally signed and made available to pressmen in Ibadan described Alaafin’s death as a great loss expecially to the people of Oyo and traditional institution in Oyo State.

The late Alaafin of Oyo, according to POJ, would be greatly missed for his elderly disposition to issues as well as his unalloyed commitment to Oyo town and state causes, added that, the monarch had lived a worthy life all through his reign.

The governorship aspirant urged the royal family, traditional rulers as well as the entire people of Oyo town, Oyo state and Nigeria whose interests the late monarch represented and worked tirelessly for during his lifetime to work towards immortalising the uncommon Monarch .

POJ wrote”, “the death of Oba Adeyemi, the Alaafin of Oyo is a great loss to the people of Oyo state and Nigeria in general, he will be greatly missed.

He made lots of positive impact during his lifetime, contributing meaningfully to the growth and development of Oyo town, Oyo State and Nigeria at large. Kabiesi is unarguably a custodian of Yoruba tradition, as a first-class traditional ruler, late Oba Adeyemi left a lasting legacy that the we Yoruba people will continue to cherish,”

“I pray that Almighty God be pleased with the soul of the late monarch and grant the royal family and the people of Oyo town, Oyo state and Nigeria the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss,” POJ prayed.
