As 2023 general elections are fast approaching, National Secretary of New Nigeria People’s Party(NNPP), Comrade Dipo Olayoku said that the party had no idea of coalition with other political party, in order to coast home to victory.
Olayoku made this disclosure in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State while the ex Chieftain of People’s Democratic Party(PDP), Alhaji Adebisi Olopoeyan was announcing his official defection to NNPP.
The National Scribe of NNPP, which appears as third force disclosed that the epoch making occasion of Olopoeyan’s acceptance into the party was consequent upon desire to give rebirth to the party.
Olayoku maintained that, NNPP had been in existence since 2000, stressing that the new party remains as a party while INEC was deregistering some political parties which could not meet up with the needed prerequisites.
On Olopoeyan’s defection, he said Olopoeyan remains a notable and influential politician in Oyo State and Nigeria as a whole, whose defection to the party can’t be made in a parlour celebration.
Olayoku maintained that their hook had caught a new fish in the calibre of person like Olopoeyan, reiterating that, he is a politician with an electoral value and influence across the country.
As 2023 general elections beckon, he said that they would work assiduously to install the next governor of Oyo State and also wrestles power from APC at the centre.
In his presentation, Former Chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State, Alhaji Adebisi Olopoeyan on Monday described the governor of the state, Engr. Seyi Makinde as an ingrate, saying that the governor bitted fingers that helped him to emerge the governor of the state.
He noted that PDP is currently in crisis due to the selfishness of the governor who failed to appreciate efforts of party members that worked for his emergence.
Speaking in Ibadan during his official declaration as a member of New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Olopoeyan pointed out that the governor said he didn’t want Godfather, but later turned himself to Godfather sharing party tickets to aspirants in the party ahead of 2023 general elections.
“PDP was not on ground in Oyo State as at 2015, I re-awake the party, and we used it to contest and came to power”.
“NNPP is ready, PDP and APC members are still going to join us, it is now money for money and power for power in 2023 election, we shall attack whoever attacks us”.
“Makinde is running thuggery and prisoners’ administration, PDP has been divided beyond repair, that is why we have to leave before it collapsed totally”.
In his reiteration, the Secretary of NNPP in Oyo State, Hon. Dipo Olayoku in his welcome address said that leaders of the party approached Olopoeyan having seeing his strength as one of the stakeholders that enthroned governor Makinde.
He noted that failure of governor Makinde to recognised hard working PDP members led to the re-birth of NNPP in the state, adding that his party is ready to correct impunity and carry everybody along in it’s activities.
“We are the one that come to begged him to our party and that is why we gives him the party structure in the state”.
