The new National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Abdullahi Adamu, GovernorAbdullahi Ganduje (Kano), Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu (Lagos); the outgone CECPC Chairman, Governor Mai Mala Buni (Yobe); former governor Segun Osoba (Ogun), Minister Hadi Sirika and APC National Secretary aspirant, Prof. Abideen Olaiya have commended Oyo State Chairman of APC, Hon. Isaac Omodewu for his contributions towards resolving issues that might hinder the successful conduct of March 26 National Convention of the ruling party in Nigeria.
Aremo Osoba, Mr. Sanwo-Olu and Hon. Sirika praised Omodewu for proper coordination of Oyo APC delegates at the convention ground.
Prof. Olaiya, in his withdrawal statement, said ““It is with great respect for the office and personality of the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and not to bring shame to the South-West region that I made up my mind to withdraw from the race.
“At this juncture, I must acknowledge the effort of Rotimi Makinde, Ajibola Famurewa, Opeyemi Bamidele who were the first set of people who approached me to break the ice. Also, Akin Olajide, Oyo State Chairman, Chief Isaac Omodewu, and Akeem Akogun are well appreciated. Their efforts eventually led to the intervention of our leader Chief Segun Osoba”.
This newspaper reports that Hon. Omodewu played key roles in the final resolution of issues associated with the position of National Secretary, which involved Barrister Adebayo Shittu, Senator Iyiola Omisore and Prof. Abideen Olaiya.
Meanwhile, Hon. Omodewu has congratulated Senator Abdullahi Adamu, on his emergence as the new national chairman of APC.
He urged Senator Adamu and other executives to build on the achievements of Governor Mai Mala Buni-led APC CECPC and also to promote unity and fair play within the party.
Omodewu while expressing his confidence in Senator Adamu’s leadership skills, pledged his total cooperation with the National Headquarters of the party.
“I specially commend all Oyo APC delegates, chieftains and observers for their unity at the just concluded national convention of the party. Also, my deep congratulations to our representatives at national and zonal levels of our great party. I assure them of my maximum support for them to succeed in their assignments” he concluded.
