This newspaper reports that Governor Babajide Sanwoolu’s second term as Lagos governor is not certain and may face what his predecessor, Akinwummi Ambode battled with.
According to what we gathered, one major reason for this is the power tussle between Christians and Muslims in Lagos state. It would be recalled that the last muslim governor was Babatunde Raji Fashola after which Ambode and Governor Sanwoolu, who are Christians emerged.
At the moment, certain individuals are pushing for a muslim governor in 2023 and it may likely become a reality.
To replace Governor Sanwoolu, we reliably gathered that the current head of service, Mr Hakeem Muri-Okunola may be chosen.
