Despite Old Age, Olubadan’s Death Was Painful — Oyo Reps’ Member, Odidi Omo Mourns

Following the demise of the Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji, Aje Ogungunniso 1, at the early hours of Sunday, January 2. A serving lawmaker, representing Ibadan Northwest/Southwest Federal Constituency, Oyo State, Hon. Adedeji Stanley Olajide popularly known as “Odidi Omo”has said despite his old age, the monarch’s demise was so painful to him.

Oyo Federal Lawmaker stressed that the death of His Imperial Majesty, The Olubadan of Ibadanland, came to him as a rude shock at the festive season of new year.

Odidi Omo maintained that despite Olubadan’s old age, his death was so painful to him, the constituents and entire people of Ibadanland.

In his eulogy, the parliamentarian described late Olubadan as a fine, gentle and proficient business man whose lifetime was used to build businesses and people regardless of race, religions, regions and backgrounds among others.

Odidi Omo maintained that Olubadan’s knowledge, wisdom and skills of business development was exemplary, as many people of caliber and timber in the society today rose to the peak via his business’ acumen and mentorship.

On his leadership as the Olubadan of Ibadanland, he described Oba Saliu Adetunji as a peace loving monarch who ensured that peace reigned in Ibadanland and beyond throughout of his kingship.

Odidi Omo described him as Monarch of impeccable character, honour, integrity and firm discipline whose period of reign was known for progress and development across Ibadanland.

In his commiseration, Odidi Omo condoled with the Oyo State Government, The Olubadan-in-Council, immediate family, The Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes(CCII), and Oyo State Traditional Council respectively.

The Lawmaker prayed that God in His mercy would bring succour to people of Ibadanland and Oyo State at large over the demise of His Imperial Majesty.

Adding that, longevity and peace of minds would by God’s grace be given to the living monarchs across Yorubaland and beyond.
