Makinde Approves 10.8Kms Roads In Ibadan, Pegs Cost At #4.9B

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has approved new 10.8Kms roads in Ibadan at the cost of #4.9B.

Professor Daud Sangodoyin, Commissioner for Public Work and Transport, disclosed this while fielding questions from journalists, shortly after completion of 15th Session of State Executive Council Meeting in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State.

In his explanation, Sangodoyin stressed that Makinde in conjunction with other members of the state executive council approved the dualization of Ibadan Airport Road(3.2kms), adjoining access road in Alakia behind Oil and Gas Road(1.95kms), Oludare street to Bishop Phillips(2.0Kms) and Iwo Road interchange to Adegbayi road(4.73Kms) respectively.

Honourable Commissioner disclosed that the roads after completion, would enhance expansion of economy, ease of doing business and free movement of all roads’ users among other benefits.

He maintained that Kopek Construction Company would handle the work, having acknowledged that Ibadan-Ife-Ilesha road recently approved by Federal Government is in its care for rehabilitation.

Sangodoyin said the awarded roads would be completed after 6 months’ allotted duration to the contractor.

He assured that the direct payment the state government would make to the contractor, would be accessed from #50B loan it applied from the Central Bank of Nigeria(CBN).
