The Oyo State Road Transport Management Authority (OYRTMA) has been decorated as Most Outstanding Government Agency in the year 2021 sequel to “her sterling performance in the effective management of human and vehicular traffic across the State”.
The award was presented on behalf of the Organizers of the 2021 Edition of Miss Oyo Beauty Pageant and Awards Night by the Executive Chairman, Oyo SUBEB, Dr. Nureni Adeniran.
At the event that was put together by veteran journalist, Mayor Isaac Brown, President, Silverstone Communications, the Authority was loudly applauded for her ingenuity in the management of traffic across the State despite the increasing influx of people and vehicles into the State.
Receiving the award on behalf of the Executive Chairman of the Authority Mogaji Akin Fagbemi PhD., the General Manager OYRTMA, Mr. Ayoade Adekola appreciated the organizers and reiterated that this honour would further spur the Authority and it’s Men and Officers to do even more as there exists a massive room for improvement and better service delivery.
In his words: “our achievement thus far is a testimony of the commitment and dedication of the Governor Seyi Makinde led administration in ensuring an improved standard of living for the good people of Oyo State viz convenient, predictable and seamless transportation environment that is safe, fast and reliable.
We are not where we wish to be yet. This award would further inspire our men and Officers to put in more effort to make our roads safer, saner and more accessible.
Our drive is to reduce travel time within Oyo State to the barest minimum, ensure safety of commuters and contribute significantly to the realization of the four cardinal agenda of the Governor Seyi Makinde’s Administration in the areas of Improved Security, Better Health Care Delivery System, Improved Education Standards and Enhanced Economic Prosperity”, the OYRTMA Boss said.
Speaking further, Dr. Fagbemi maintained that “While we dedicate this award of honour to the people-loving Governor of our dear State, Engr. Seyi Makinde FNSE, we appreciate the people of Oyo State for their patience and cooperation in advancing the course of road safety in the State. We implore all and sundry to be more vigilant particularly at this Ember Months and beyond as we wish all accident-free Christmas and a happy new year in advance”.
The event brought together several dignitaries including past and serving Political leaders, Captains of industries, Traditional leaders and Religious leaders. Some very notable faces at the event in no particular order includes; Dr. Joel Yinka Ayefele, Sen. Monsurat Sunmonu, Sen. Kola Balogun, Oyo State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, SA security, SA Diaspora, SA Disable, South West PDP Women leader among numerous others.
