Aspirant into Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Sheriff Adesina has shown readiness to continue the annual Christmas/New Year Football Competition among the youth representatives of the 11 wards in Ibadan Northwest Local Government, Area of Oyo State.
Adesina who intends to represent Ibadan Northwest State Constituency, disclosed this in a release he personally signed and made available to naijatodaynews.com.ng
According to him, “this is to inform the general public that the Annual Christmas/New Year SSA Football Competition among youth representatives of the 11 Wards in Ibadan Northwest Local Government Area of Oyo State will hold between December 12 and 20 2021, at the Federal Cooperative College Playing Ground, Eleyele, Ibadan, beginning from 1pm each day.
“Sponsored by Hon. Segun Sheriff Adesina (a.k.a SSA) to promote unity, peace and development in the Local Government Area, the competition, which began two years ago, is also geared towards complementing the effort of our amiable, dynamic and visionary Governor, His Excellency, Engr. Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde in the areas of Sports Development and Youth Empowerment.
“Highlights of this annual ‘festival of football’ include the conferment of honorary awards on eminent dignitaries from all walks of life for their contributions to Youth Empowerment and Sports Development in Ibadan Northwest LGA, Oyo State and Nigeria at large. International Scouts will also be on hand to identify and groom outstanding talents for potential careers abroad.
“Individual awards shall be presented to the best player, highest goal scorer and best goalkeeper in the competition. In addition, cash rewards of N150, 000, N100, 000 and N50, 000 awaits the winner of the competition as well as the first and second runners up respectively.
