Oyo Assembly Hopeful, Rotimi Ajumobi Calls For Hitch Free Exercise As PDP National Convention Holds On Saturday

Aspirant into Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Rotimi Ajumobi has charged the delegates and party faithful who are taking part in People’s Democratic Party(PDP) national convention slated for Abuja on Saturday, October 30, to ensure that the exercise is hitch free and devoid of rancour capable of polarizing the party.

The National convention that is scheduled to hold on Saturday is aimed at electing the members of National Working Committee who are to pilot the affairs of the party for the next four years.

Ajumobi who aspires to represent Kajola State Constituency come 2023, in his release made available to naijatodaynews.com.ng enjoined the statutory delegates and other party faithful to engage in an exercise with the spirit of sportsmanship and approach that would further strengthen the unity, love and togetherness among the members.

He stressed that the engagement is to act in line with the provisions of PDP constitution, while its adherence calls for election of new members of National Working Committee as time of current occupants of respective portfolios is fast running out.

Ajumobi said that it was a normal thing in a democratic setting that aspirants would jostle for a single portfolio, but a single person would be considered via democratic means.

He called on those who have ambitions to serve in one office or the others, but which fortunes will not beckon on them to see the exercise as a game of sportsmanship which does not call for bitterness nor unnecessary litigations against the party.

Ajumobi however enjoined the genuinely destined winners to celebrate moderately, and believe in the fact that there are no winners and no vanquished.

Ajumobi prayed God to make the journey of those who are travelling to Abuja for the exercise an hitch free and successful one that would culminate in overall blessings to the party.
