Oyo: Peace Reigns As Kajola PDP Holds Local Congress

Peace and love prevailed as members of People’s Democratic Party(PDP) in Kajola Local Government, Area of Oyo State held local congress on Tuesday, October 5, 2021.

The event which took place at the Local Government Secretariat, Okeho had the following people as the new executive members to run the affairs of the party for the next four years. Their names include:

Chief Johnson Ojebiyi – Chairman
Alhaji Akeusola Nurain – Ass. Chairman
Tijani Muritala Onaolapo – Secretary
Taiwo Joshua Olaniyi – Ass. Secretary
Diekola Oluwakemi – Treasurer
Gbolahan Folasade – Woman Leader
Ganiyu Afeez Ajibola – Youth Leader
Tijani Isiaka – PRO
Mustapha Bola Rafiu – Ass. PRO
Awojobi Caleb – Financial Secretary
Ojebode Ademola – Auditor
Salau Yekini – Legal Adviser
Ogungbenro Olusegun – Organizing Secretary
Tijani Yekini – Ex Officio
Yinusa Adepoju – Ex Officio
Olafimihan Rasheedat – Ex officio
Morakinyo Sulaimon – Ex Officio and
Thomas Olaifa – Ex Officio respectively.

Member of Kajola Local Congress Committee and full time member, Local Government Service Commission, Hon.Oyeshina Oyedeji thanked all party members for their participation at the exercise and enjoined them to comport themselves peacefully, so as to ensure that the returning officer does his work perfectly.

Returning Officer for the exercise, Comrade Adedokun Gabriel enjoined all members of the party to maintain orderliness and act firmly according to the objective rules of the engagement.

In his discharge of duty, he asked whether there were two or three aspirants jostling for same portfolio, but in the absence of no, Adedokun charged all candidates to line up before the delegates for chorus endorsement.

Returning Officer asked the teaming numbers of delegates who were drawn from eleven (11) wards of the local council to ratify the candidatures of all all intending members of the executives and all said yes.

Adedokun congratulated the newly emerged executive members and charged them to carry out their duties in line with the constitution, norms and culture of PDP.

In his words, the executive chairman, Kajola Local Government, Alhaji(Hon) Salimonu Afolabi Borikansunwon felicitated the new executive members and enjoined them to prioritize diligence, hard work and unity as hallmarks to retain power in the state come 2023.

While delivering acceptance speech, Chief Johnson Ojebiyi, chairman, who was voted in for the second time appreciated the party for allowing him and others to come in for another term.

He stressed that he was happy that the party members could return them, having seen and acknowledged their brilliant performances in the last four years.

Ojebiyi promised that he and other members of the executive would do their best to possibly expand the membership base of the party and however called on all to refrain from unwarranted utterances against those that are aggrieved in the party.

The exercise was witnessed by members of Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC), Law Enforcement Agencies(LEAs), Paramilitary Officers and host of others.
