The Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Engr Rauf Olaniyan has revealed that the problem of insincerity which gives birth to poverty culminates into insecurity.
Olaniyan however exonerated the State Chairman, Resident Electoral Commission(REC), Barr Mutiu Agboke from collecting bribes.
Oyo DG disclosed this while speaking at the annual state lecture on Insecurity And National Unity: The Nation On Trail, that was organised by The Muslim Congress, Oyo State on Sunday, October 4.
In his emphasis, Olaniyan stressed that the failure and inability to keep and maintain the firm principles of sincerity among one another, regardless of any class nor status contribute to the growing spate of insecurity in the country.
He added that the menace of insincerity had eaten deep into the fabrics of our society, it may continue unabated, provided we fail to put all hands on deck and live by the virtues of uprightness.
Oyo DG reiterated that the starvation and famine caused by insincerity had at large metamorphosed into insecurity.
However, following the rumour and speculation going viral that the REC Chairman, is fond of collecting bribes, Olaniyan said Mutiu Agboke remains a man of impeccable character, integrity and sincerity who adheres to principles and code of conduct that uphold Electoral Commission.

While the second Guest Lecturer, Ustadh Abdur-Rasaq Abdus-Salam Awayewaserere, Director, Corporate and Public Affairs, Voice of Nigeria, Lagos spoke on Dangers of Disunity and Tribalism: Religious Leaders on Call.
In his speech, Amir, The Muslim Congress, Alhaji AbdulWasiâi Bangbala said that the annual state lecture has been a platform where TMC makes pronouncements on the views, ideas and positions that will help move the nation forward in the right direction.
Bangbala however appreciated all that graced the ocassion of annual state lecture, saying their participation and contribution justify their readiness and eagerness to make TMC attains enviable heights.
