Oyo: Ex Iseyin LG Chair, Waheed Adeleke Enjoins APC Members To Prioritise Oneness As Party Local Congress Holds Today

The former chairman, Iseyin Local Government and Chieftain of All Progressives Congress(APC) in Oyo State, Hon. Waheed Mobolaji Adeleke has enjoined the party members and stakeholders to prioritise oneness and peace over the smooth conduct of party local congress which has been slated to hold today, Saturday, September, 4 across the 33 Local Governments.

The party chieftain gave peaceful words of admonition over the scheduled local congress in a release he personally signed and made available to the news men.

Waheed enjoined the progressive party members and stakeholders to display high level of political maturity, decency and understanding that would create peaceful atmosphere in the conduct of the party’s local congress , which will eventually produce new set of executives across the 33 local governments of Oyo State.

He called on teeming faithful, loyal and dedicated members of APC to come out en mass to exercise their civic responsibility, stressing that this exercise would no doubt make party better position to prepare and win the subsequent elections in the state.

Iseyin born popitician said, “It is a natural rule that in every contest, there must be a winner. In this regard, I  appeal to all the contestants across the 33 local governments, to maintain the love, peace, unity and interest of our great party within their hearts after the exercise”.

Adding that, “the outcome of this exercise will determine to a large extent, the unity of our party both at the state and national levels. It is in this vein that I enjoin our party members who may feel aggrieved or unsatisfied by the conduct of the local congress to remain calm and refrain from self help”.

“Our party is guided by a tested and acknowledged constitution with provisions to address grievances. Complaints emanating from the exercise, if any, will be resolved justly and amicably”.

Waheed stressed that the Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) of the party would surely set up a Congress Appeal Committee to consider complaints from members in order to ensure that equity, fairness and justice prevail.

He commended the party leaders, members and others whose cooperation and love for APC would definitely yield fruitful and successful outcome of local congress across the pacesetter state and Nigeria as a whole.

In another vein, Waheed called on party leaders, elders and members to make oneness, fairness and transparency as indispensable antidotes which are capable of guaranteeing APC success at the main elections.

The ex-LG Boss observed that some unscrupulous local elements in the LG are allowing their greed, arrogance, nepotism, dictatorial and other undemocratic tendencies to come into play.

He enjoined both the National and State wings of the party to learn from past mistakes and not allow imposition of candidates in the process, calling on all leaders to ensure that the wish of the people in a democratic process prevails.
