Association of Nigeria Theatre Arts Practitioners(ANTP), Oke-Ogun Zone has bestowed awards of Aare Asoludero Oke-Ogun and Yeye Asa OkeOgun on the Executive Chairman, Kajola Local Government, Oyo State, Hon.(Alh) Salimonu Afolabi Borikansunwon and his wife, Mrs Mary Ayinke Afolabi.
The prestigious awards were conferred on the duo at epoch making occasion of OkeOgun Festival of Arts and Culture(OFAC 2021) held on Saturday, August 28 at Okeho Town Hall, Okeho, the headquarters of Kajola Local Government.
While speaking on reasons that triggered the presentation of awards, Director General, ANTP Oke-Ogun Zone, Comrade Abdulwasiu Eniola Isola disclosed that the bestowment of Aare Asoludero Oke-Ogun on the Executive Chairman of Kajola Local Government was consequent upon his benevolence, philanthropy and human kindness to people around him and the society at large.
Isola reiterated that Borikansunwon had been a person whose lifestyle and relationship with people are premised on ascertaining that people around him are smiling and cheerful always.
Director General said that the council boss had been fond of giving to people before he became the Local Government Chairman, stressing that he hasn’t stopped being a benevolent person while he is in current capacity of engagement.
Isola urged Borikansunwon to use the new title of Aare Asoludero Oke-Ogun to put similes on people and contribute greater quota towards the growth and development of Oke-Ogun and Oyo State as a whole.
On her award, Director General stated that the award of Yeye Asa Oke-Ogun conferred on Mrs Mary Ayinke Afolabi was a result of her quota and ceaseless contribution to upliftment of arts and culture in Oke-Ogun Zone of Oyo State.
He enjoined Mrs Afolabi to persist in her role to uplift the arts and culture, stressing that the new tittle of hers should be used to encourage others to do the needful for the association in Oke-Ogun, Oyo State and Nigeria as a whole.
OFAC 2021 was attended by the important personalities across the walk of life which range from the ANTP, National and State Bodies, The Traditional Rulers, Political figures, Kajola LG Councillors and others respectively.
