The President of Nigerian Minifootball Association, Hon. Oluyemi Adewale Taiwo and Chief Coach of Nigerian Minifootball, Fabian Etaba had lauded the Chief Executive Officer, CEO Ilaji Hotel & Sports Resort, Engr Dotun Sanusi on encouragement and mobilization that eventually necessitated Nigeria’s qualification for world cup in Ukraine.
The qualifying match played on Saturday, July 17 at Ilaji International Mini Stadium where Nigeria defeated Zambia by 3-2 was part of ongoing 2021 African Minifootball Nation’s Cup holding at Ilaji Sports Centre, Oloyo Village, Akanran Ibadan, Oyo State.
The president who is also the lawmaker, representing Ibarapa/Ido Federal Constituency showered encomiums on Chief Dotun Sanusi for making the second edition of the minifootball tournament a reality at Ilaji Sports Centre.
He said despite all odds and inability of Federal and State Governments to make provisions for mobilization and logistics to make the tournament an interesting and encouraged one for the players, Nigeria was able to qualify for World Cup in Ukraine.
The lawmaker stressed that the encountered shortcomings in this tournament, would be revisited and makesure they are corrected to avoid same in the subsequent editions of the minifootball tournaments.
He said, it was painful that the Minifootball Association was not part of the budgeted associations, stressing that he would do all that are necessary to ensure that the association is included in the next year’s budget.
In his own submission, Fabian Etaba thanked the players for their magnificent display of skills, talents and courage that earned them winning against Zambian Minifootball Team.
He showed his excitement as his players defeated Zambia for the second time, saying he would need to go back to the drawing board and map out strategies that would earn them more victories at the next world cup and other subsequent matches.
Etaba described Dotun Sanusi as a man whose love for fellow beings is pure and appreciable, saying the country and world at large would be better, if there are other people doing like him to people.
Adeniji Kabiru Adewole, who scored the hat-trick for Nigerian Minifootball Team thanked God for the victory they recorded against Zambians, saying the goals and victory were dedicated to Nigerians.
He promised to be more focused, diligent and better determined to score more goals for the team and represent the country better in the subsequent tournaments.
