Executive Chairman, OnaAra Local Government, Area of Oyo State, Hon. Sanusi Musibau Adesina Shabba has presented motorcycles , reflective jackets and other security equipment to local security outfits, in order to sustain the reigning peace and checkmate other nefarious activities in the council area.
Shabba at the epoch making occasion, organized at the council premises on Friday, July 16 handed over the motorcycles, reflective jackets and other security equipment to the local security men who are Agbekoya Akekaka, Oyo State Vigilante, LFEG, Agbekoya Peace Movement, Nigeria Legion, Irorun Oodun, OPC Gani Adams, The Local Hunters, OPC Fasheun, Soludero respectively.
In his speech, the council boss disclosed that the presentation of mobilities and other equipment to the local security outfits was in line with his readiness, eagerness and firm stance to ensure that the peace, love and oneness continue to reign in the community without any form of violence and disorderliness.
He stressed that he had knowledge that motors and other useful items are unavoidably needed to nip all forms of insecurity challenges in the bud, saying those things would soon be available as the current presentations were just the tips of an ice berg.
Shabba said Governor Seyi Makinde was doing everything possible to ensure that lives and properties of good people of pacesetter state are saved and secured, adding that it becomes important and necessary to reciprocate the efforts at the local level.
He appreciated Engr Dotun Sanusi, CEO Ilaji Hotel & Sports Resort for working in tandem with the governor on how the issue of insecurity would be checkmated in OnaAra and Oyo State as a whole.
He said Dotun Sanusi had been doing well to promote the local government, which he substantiated that such gestures have been manifested in recent presentation of motor to the local security outfits and how his affluence and influence had assisted the peaceful conduct of the ongoing 2021 African Minifootball Nation’s Cup in the council area.
The Special Assistant to the Governor on Egbeda/OnaAra Federal Constituency, Hon. Akinlolu James Adegboyega Akin Oosa has appreciated Shabba for making all that are needed to curtail the security menace available for the security outfits.
Akin Oosa called on council boss, community leaders, stakeholders, security agents and others in the council area not to relent nor rest on their oars until the success is attained.
Hon.Mufutau Ogunremi, former chairman, OnaAra Local Government and Chairman PDP, Oyo Central Senatorial District, called on people of the community not to jettison the heritage of local power being bequeathed by the fore fathers.
Ogunremi added that those things are now needed as self defense and for the community to triumph on security challenges that are allegedly orchestrated by the Fulani herdsmen across the country.
He called on people to join hands with the council boss on areas of security, development and others which are notable for the growth and development of OnaAra local government.
The epoch making occasion was attended by the council chairman, leader of the house, councillors, stakeholders, political Leaders and others respectively.
