2021 African Minifootball Nation’s Cup: Ivory Coast Humbles Somalia By 5-1

The Defending Champion, African Minifootball Nation’s Cup, Ivory Coast has humiliated Somalia Team by 5-1 goals in the ongoing minifootball tournament, taking place at Ilaji Sports’ Centre, Oloyo Village, Akanran Ibadan, Oyo State.

Ivory Coast Football Team at the match played on Tuesday, July 13 showed its skills, talent and professionalism in soccer by defeating Somalia in a group stage match by 5-1 goals.

Defending Champion lost its first match to Ghana, won Guinea in its second rounds and eventually triumphed over Somalia, which made it to lead the group and successfully qualified for the quarter finals.

Sorro John, Chief Coach to Ivory Coast did not hide his excitement over victory his players attained in the just concluded match, describing achievement as exhibition of players’ discipline, skills, determination and courage to win, saying Somalia played but Ivorians utilized chances.

John enjoined the players to be more focused and determined in order to defeat Egypt in the subsequent quarter finals of the tournament.

The team captain, Dambele Musa Dashiki, praised the coach for his unique ways of grooming the players and discipline that yield productive results.

He said the tournament was becoming tougher, pledging that he and other players would do all necessary to defeat Egypt in the subsequent quarter finals.
