Erstwhile Ezekiel Adekunle Eleede, Eleede Compound, Ogan, Okeho Kajola Local Government, Area of Oyo State has renounced his idols, affirmed to be worshiped for complete 15 years.
The 78-year-old man, who had for complete 15 years headed all local hunters and other idol worshipers renounced all his idols shortly after he convincingly converted to Islam.
The erstwhile pagan was bathed into Islam and named Abdsalam Adekunle by the renowned Islamic Cleric, Alhaji Daud Awayewaserere, while he had submitted his readiness and conviction to become Islam.
In an exclusive interaction with the heptagenarian, he disclosed that he voluntarily and convincingly became Muslim, having noticed that the idols worshiped for complete 15 years had not brought any meaningful development nor progress to his life and others around him.
Abdsalam said he was an adherent of idols, who has neither gone to church nor mosque since his birth, stressing that he has known the true path of worship and he will never cease in intensifying efforts in acknowledging the oneness of Allah.
He added that he becomes more endear to religion of Islam, while his colleagues in the religion began to tell him why Islam is better than idols and other associated polytheism.
The 78-year-old man said that despite his adherence and fraternity in idols’ worship, the challenges associated with his poor sight and legs’ pains were not sorted out while worshipping the idols.
He showered encomiums on Alhaji Daud Awayewaserere for showing him the path that affirms oneness of Allah and for also making his conversion to Islam a fruitful one.
