The Chief Medical Director, UCH, Prof. Jesse Abiodun Otegbayo has congratulated the newly elected President of the Nigerian Society of Immunology, Professor Ganiyu Olatunbosun Arinola over his election.
In his message, he described Professor Arinola as an astute academician and worthy administrator who will bring his wealth of experience to bear on society.
“I wish you the best as you take on the mantle of leadership. Your antecedents speaks volumes of you. I know it’s another beginning of greater things to come”. Otegbayo said.
Also, the Provost, College of Medicine University of Ibadan Prof. Olayinka Omigbodun in her congratulatory message said: “We are extremely delighted that the Department of Immunology, CoMUI will serve as headquarters for the Society.
“As we celebrate World Immunology Day (1 May 2021), let us applaud Professor Arinola. He is actively engaged in research in several areas including 1. Breast cancer. 2. Asthma among African-ancestry Populations. 3. Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection. 4. Coronavirus. 5. Impact of household air pollution.”
“We, therefore, wish him an impactful time as president as he continues to build bridges in research, training and service locally and internationally.”
