Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti State, Otunba Bisi Kolawole has condemned the killing of a police woman and two others during the House of Assembly bye-election in Ekiti East Local Government area of Ekiti State today, describing it as barbaric.
Kolawole, who said he wondered whether Governor Kayode Fayemi have blood flowing in his veins, added that bloodletting during his reign as Ekiti governor has become too many.
According to a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media, Bola Agboola, the PDP chairman said the wrath of God will come upon those thugs who perpetrated the killings in Omuo Ekiti today including their sponsors.
The PDP chairman commiserated with families of the victims, demanding the arrest of the perpetrators.
Kolawole admonished police in Ekiti State to bring an end to political killings in the State by apprehending the known government thugs who were involved in previous attacks in the State.
He said even though PDP is a party of law abiding and decent people, the police in Ekiti State must have to do their jobs by bringing those thugs whose evidence of attacks on the people have been made available on many occasions to avoid the people opting for self-help.
Kolawole said; “Our question is, why is it that political thugs are always on rampage whenever Dr Kayode Fayemi is in charge of Ekiti, killing people with reckless abandon?
“Is it that Fayemi has blood covenant that he must fulfil as governor and he always need his thugs to kill people to fulfil this evil covenant?
“When will Fayemi stop orchestrating mindless killing of Ekiti people just to quench his thirst for blood?
“For us, this is one killing too many and Governor Fayemi and his APC must be told in clear terms that enough is enough”.
