Document has revealed the ground breaking achievements that the Governor of Oyo State, Engr Seyi Makinde has attained in 22 months of assumption of office.
The achievements according to the document are itemised as follows:
? Light Up Oyo’ Project
? Reconstruction of Under G Stadium _ LAUTECH
? Dualization of the airport road, rehabilitation of Apete-Awotan-Akufo road, and the completion Odo Ona Elewe Road (AKA Akala Way) that was abandoned by the previous administration.
? Evolve a robust institutional and regulatory framework for the transport sector such as PMS and Improved TCC.
? Upgrading of rural feeders roads in all the 33 local government areas of the state.
The construction of 1000KM of rural access roads through the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP) will also contribute to the economic development of the state.
? New roads to be built to enhance economic activities, promote rural-urban linkages and generally facilitate movement around the state.
The Moniya-Ijaye-Iseyin, Saki-Ogboro-Igboho road, Challenge-Odo Ona Elewe-Apete road, Apete-Awotan-Akufo, or the Eruwa road are some of the linkages that this administration has focused on to enhance the economic activities of this state.
? Provision of modern equipment to the Road Maintenance Agency.
? Institutions and mechanisms to promote and protect child rights.
? Rendering 6+1 operational services i.e. Protection, Shelter, Medical, Educational, Nutrition, Psycho-social Support and Household Economic Strengthening/Financial Assistance for the vulnerable and less privileged children in collaboration with Child-Focused Non-Governmental Organisations under this administration.
? Training of counsellors and shelter operators as it relates to child rights which was held at Travel House Budget Hotel, Ring Road, Mobil bus stop, Ibadan from November 19-21, 2019.
?There has been continuous collaboration with the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), Nigeria Immigration Service, Nigeria Police Force, Nigeria Security Civil Defence Corps, Anti-Human Trafficking organisations and other networking groups to eliminate child trafficking, labour and abuse.
? Establishment of integrated farm settlement schemes.
? Revitalisation of the 12 water schemes in the four zones of Ibadan (3), Oyo (2), Ogbomoso (3) and Saki (4). A programme of ensuring and sustaining the necessary inputs and maintenance to ensure stable and regular supply of water will be executed.
? Increase service coverage for water supply and sanitation state-wide to meet the level of the socio economic demand of the state.

? Laying Of 126kms Of HDPE distribution network of various sizes ranging from 90mm ND To 225mm ND in areas such as Osegere, Egbeda, Erunmu, Ejioku, Lalupon, Ile Igbon and Iyana Offa.

? Exploit the state’s mineral resources to contribute to poverty eradication and create long-lasting value to society.
? Achieve an optimal energy mix using the most appropriate technologies.
? Scrapping of all educational levies including the N3,000.00 education levy for senior secondary school students.
?10% in reduction in fees in the Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igboora,
? Free conduct of state examinations such as placement and screening exercise examination for admission into JSS 1.
?Distribution of free report cards to public secondary school students across the state to the tune of N23,849,300.00
? Distribution of text books to students in public secondary schools across the state to the tune of N2,053,623,025.71
? Distribution of 2,782,806 customized note books to students in public secondary schools in the state;
?Release of funds for the conduct of 2019 Common Entrance Examinations in the 33 LGAs and 35 LCDAs.
?In the 2020 budget, the educational sector’s budget was raised to 22.3%. This is above the UNESCO recommended standard of 15-20%.
? Refurbish dilapidated school buildings and classrooms.
? A block of 3 Classrooms with offices was completed at French Centre Iyagankun.
? Construction of 4 Compartment Toilets at French Documentation Centre, Iyaganku, Ibadan
? Rehabilitation of 2 blocks of 4 classrooms with offices and toilets (Block C & D) at Government Technical College, Saki

?Rehabilitation of a block of 6 classrooms ICT building at Government Technical College, Ogbomoso, Ogbomoso.
? Construction of Drawing Studio and rehabilitation of Service and alignment workshop at Government Technical College, Iseyin
? Renovation of a block 3 classrooms with offices at St. Joseph Secondary School, Awe
? Renovation of a block of 5 classrooms with office at St. Joseph Secondary School, Awe

?Construction of 4 Compartment toilets at St. Joseph Secondary School, Awe and

?Additionally, SUBEB has completed renovations in forty-eight schools while renovations in sixty schools are ongoing.
? Set new targets for high performance of the school system in the state.
? The ongoing termly running costs that comprises of N400,000,000 to secondary schools and N126,000,000 to primary schools.
? Special release of N500M Naira made to LAUTECH for outstanding salary payments
?N200M Naira released to The Polytechnic, Ibadan for Accreditation of 15 programs
? Sustenance of 100% monthly subvention to all the state-owned tertiary institutions
? Full implementation of UBE laws.
The Oyo State Government paid the counterpart fund of N1.5 billion for 2019 and has also paid counterpart funding for 2018 left unpaid by the previous administration. Efforts to access the Special Needs Education grant of N83.1billion budgeted within 2005 and 2019 and an outstanding Teachers’ Professional Development fund of N554 billion allocated between year 2009 and 2018 are ongoing.
? The state’s security architecture has been strengthened with the resuscitation/ revamping of the Police Swift Response Squad (SRS) and re-jigging Operation Burst
?The government sought and got approval for the creation of an additional Police Mobile Force (PMF) Squadron, which commenced operation at Ago-Are in Atisbo South West LCDA in Oke-Ogun axis of the state. This is long overdue because of the vastness of the state and need to strengthen security in Oke-Ogun axis where the state’s international border with the Republic of Benin lies.
? The Oyo State Security Network, code named ‘AMOTEKUN’ was successfully launched on January 09, 2020. With the recent nomination/appointment of Chairman, Board of ‘AMOTEKUN’ Agency and Commander of ‘AMOTEKUN’ Corps on May 20, 2020, the security outfit has commenced operations.
? Establish an emergency response system.
The Oyo State Government operationalised the Citizens’ Emergency toll-free line (615). The toll-free line was acquired by the previous administration but not put into use, until the present administration operationalised it.
? Setting up of security control room.
The Oyo State Government refurbished the previous control room domiciled at Iyaganku Police Area Command and has commenced the expansion of the Oyo State Security Trust Fund (OYSSTF) control room (ongoing).
? Purchase of modern equipment and logistics for security agencies to fight crime.
?. Welfare support to the security agencies.
The Oyo State Government regularly provides welfare [ration cash allowances (RCAs)] for Officers and men of the State Security Outfits, including fueling the operational vehicles.
? Opening and maintenance of rural feeder and farm settlement roads
? Establishment of cottage industries in commodities clustered areas (P.P.P.).
Eight indigenous and international agribusiness companies have signed up to commence work in both Eruwa and Akufo Farm Estates. The construction of the two farm estates will commence in the third quarter of this year.
? Expansion of School Agricultural Programmes (short term, 6-12 months).
? Consistency in payments of monthly salaries to civil servants and political office holders as well as other benefits:

Despite all these achievements, Governor Seyi Makinde has been able to review of finance promises
- No increase in tax or rates
Standing by the campaign promises on Internal Generated Revenue (IGR), there has not been any increase whatsoever on the existing tax rates inherited by the current administration led by Governor Seyi Makinde. - Broadening the Existing Tax Base
The Governor Seyi Makinde has taken steps led administration to bring more people into the tax nets, especially artisans in conjunction with their various cluster groups and associations. In addition, some of the outdated and abysmally low rates are being looked into with a view to reviewing them. Legislations are also being considered to amend some of the obsolete rates. - Providing business support and information, particularly to SMEs
. Better collection of property taxes.
The Electronic C of O platform currently operational across the State is eradicating the bottlenecks in the processing of title documents on property leading to increased patronage by private, commercial and industrial property ventures.
- Reorganisation of Board of Internal revenue
The current administration has brought significant changes to the structure and operations of the Oyo State Internal Revenue Service through the various reorganisation efforts implemented to reflect professionalism, accountability and efficiency . - Introduce an online payment system to reduce the difficult nature of paper services. Payment platforms can be designed for each agency where the forms are filled and payment made using electronic means. The payee receives email/text messages confirming the payment. In addition, the date for the collection of titles or documents is then communicated by email.
