Senator Rilwan Adesoji Akanbi and his wife paid homage to the Olubadan of Ibadan land, Oba Saliu Akanji Olatunji, Aje Ogunguniso 1 in honour of his 5th year coronation on the throne.
The senator paid homage to the king on Sunday, 7th of March, 2021 where he expressed his joy over the achievements Ibadan recorded during the reign of Oba Saliu Akanji Olatunji.
He said, “What brought me here is a thing of joy, two days ago marks the 5th year of the reign of the king. And we have seen different kinds of things that happened talking about the new achievements in Ibadan.
“The yearly anniversary, may God grant us grace to do more if it. It’s something we are boast of, that we are from the royal families.
“If you remember the last time I came here we brought the issue of politics. And majority don’t understand it but I will talk about it now. Southwest agenda which means Yoruba agenda. In our party, when we created APC, CPC were merged with ACN to became APC. And we had the agreement that after Hausa, it will be zoned and become Yoruba’s turn.
“So what we thought of is, who will be the right candidate because if the ticket is given to us, we need the candidate who is up to the task
