Ex NASS Member, Akintola Handovers ICT Centre To School In Ibadan

A former National Assembly member at the 8th Assembly who represented Egbeda/Ona Ara Federal Constituency Hon. Engr. Taiwo Michael Akintola has handed over Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Centre to Elekuro High School Oke-Ogbere Akanran Road, Ibadan, Oyo State.

It was a gathering of joy on Monday, March 1st at the handing over ceremony of the Information and Communication Technology Centre that is facilitated and built within Elekuro High School, Oke Ogbere in Ona-Ara Local Government, Oyo State by the former Federal lawmaker who represented Egbeda/Ona Ara Federal Constituency at the 8th National Assembly Hon. Engr. Taiwo Michael Akintola popularly known as (TMA).

Akintola who was represented at the ceremony by Messrs Yemi Akinwale “JP” (Yemnak) Hon. Kehinde Adesina, Mrs F. O. Ogunwale, Mrs Yemi Macculy and a host of others, remarked that the ICT centre being handed over on Monday 1st of March, 2021 is to the glory of God and for the development and progress of Ona Ara local Government.

The epoch making event that also had in attendance, the chairman of SGB. Mr. Adekunle, A school philanthropist Chief Oluwole Ladoja (Mogaji Ile Ladoja), Mr Adekunle Lawal formal Principal Elekuro High School and other education stakeholders in Ona Ara and the state as a whole.

In his statement, ‘The representatives of Hon. Engr. Taiwo Akintola, Mr. Yemi Akinwale highlighted the service and importance of this ICT Centre which cannot be overemphasized, “it behooves me to say that it was carefully conceived in order to prepare our wards within and outside Ona Ara Local Government for the future global changes and challenges which both the Information Technology (IT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) studies which are fast changing our world today”.

” It is therefore not surprising the forms of facilities provided in the center.
The ICT Centre is equipped to function effectively for learning, training and research purpose through provision of its own server, power and backups and large number of desktop computers fully networked, with sufficient extra workstation for possible expansion”.

Mr. Yemi Akinwale said, The development of Information and communication Technologies (ICT) had strong potential to transform economy of societies in several ways, such as reducing information transaction costs, creating new efficiency of workers, promoting innovation and improving education”.

“ICT has many Advantages like enhancing the modes of communications, Better teaching and learning method, Enhancing data and information collation on security, Minimize cost and also save time. etc”.

“I want to laud our amiable and dynamic formal federal lawmaker Hon. Akintola for his initiative and exposure to build and equipped this kind of facilities in our Local Government”.

On behalf of Hon. Engr. Taiwo Akintola, I therefore implored the benefitting users to ensure adequate, proper and effective use and maintenance”.

In her own remarks, the Principal Elekuro High School Mrs. Akinade Mojisola also appreciated the spirit of humanitarianism of Hon. Akintola, she prays for his success in all his endeavours.

Also, the senior prefect of the school, Miss. Awwau said, on behalf of her co students, Lauded the ex-lawmaker on the project facilitated and handed over for their use, this will surely makes our learning easier as most of their studies have based on making research.

A youth stakeholder at the event, who is the Chairman Yoruba Council of Youths worldwide in Oyo State, Asoju Odo Alawode Rahmon commended the Lawmaker for being sincere by handing over a project facilitated when he was in office as a lawmaker.

Alawode described Hon. Akintola as a God fearing and a real son of the land, says if it’s other people. He will just try to personalize the project for his own personal use.

Others at the occasion were the representatives of Old Student Association, The chairman Parent Teacher Association and some delegate from PTA and political aides of the ex lawmaker, Mr. Kazeem Olabode. Mr Wahab Jagunmolu among others.
