Former lawmaker representing Oyo South Senatorial District, Rilwan Adesoji Akanbi has visited Yoruba rights activist, Chief Sunday Adeniyi Adeyemo, better known as Sunday Igboho,

This is following the crisis that erupted in the State on Friday, January 22nd.

Sunday Igboho had issued a seven-day ultimatum to herdsmen to vacate Ibarapa community of Oyo State as a reaction to the series of criminal activities within the community.

“I will soon sack criminal herdsmen from Osun, Ekiti, Ondo, Ogun, Lagos even Kwara State. We are tired of the criminal activities of these herdsmen. Yoruba must unite to fight this course. I am not scared of anybody”, Igboho said

“I am fighting for the peace of my people, enough is enough. The killing is much. I am not ready for any dialogue with any government other than they should ensure that those herders leave our land.”

His statement was met with a huge uproar and mixed reactions from all sects within the country.

However, Senator Adesoji who is the Okanlomo of Ibadan land, has called for peace and tranquility in the Southwest without bloodshed.

He saluted the Yoruba activist for his determination to restore peace to the South West, even in the face of death threats and the razing down of his home in Ibadan.

Meanwhile Igboho has described the arsonists who razed his building as “cowards” who perpetrated their heinous crime under the cover of darkness.

He put the items destroyed at N50 million.

The rights activist said those who attacked one of his houses were not men enough.

He said they should have come to where he stays if the arsonists were bold enough.

“What baffled me most is that I don’t expect we, the Yoruba, should be supporting the Fulani herdsmen and kidnappers to confront me on this struggle I am pursuing. What baffled most is that some Yoruba people are supporting Fulani herdsmen to raze my house. That startled me and saddened my heart a lot. I am not suspecting anyone for now. But I know it could not have happened without internal collaborators.

“They want to include politics in my fight against Fulani herdsmen. They want to destroy my name. No politician can pay me for what I am doing and none can boast of sponsoring me,” he said.
