Makinde Won in 2019 Based On Coalition With Ladoja, Sarafa, Lanlehin, Others — Olopoeyan

The Chieftain of People’s Democratic Party, PDP in Ibadan, capital of Oyo State, Alhaji Adebisi Olopoeniyan has said that Governor Seyi Malkinde’s emergence in 2019 Governorship Election was necessitated by the coalition championed by Senator Rasheed Adewolu Ladoja, Oloye Sarafadeen Abiodun Alli, Senator Olufemi Lanlehin and others.

Olopoeniyan disclosed this in Ibadan on Wednesday, January 13 while featuring on Political Platform anchored by Saheed Alatise of Noble FM, 107.1

The PDP Chieftain reiterated that considering the bulk votes of 350,000 plus garnered by Oloye Adebayo Adelabu of All Progressives Congress (APC),saying it would have been difficult for Makinde, provided other political parties did not team up with him.

Olopoeniyan said that the good platform that PDP had in 2015 general elections and masses’ legitimacy enabled it to win the governorship election with wide margin, stressing that party can only win when it enjoys support from masses.

He sighted case of Senator Teslim Folarin whom he alleged of getting the PDP gubernatorial ticket forcefully in 2015, adding that he had woeful performance, sequel to conditions that orchestrated his ticket.

On Olopoeniyan’s viral picture with Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Olopeniyan said that the meeting with the national leader of APC didn’t centre on politics but other issues aside politics.

He added that he was happy to have known a political figure and caliber like Tinubu, stressing that he had also recorded a landslide victory for identifying with someone of that pedigree.

On alleged rift with Governor Seyi Makinde, Olopoeniyan debunked the allegation of rift between him and the Governor, stressing that they were both travelling round the world since 2011 and he only assumed that Makinde’s current engagement and his made the duo to be far to each other.

He said that he had knowledge of Eddy Olafeso constesting for the seat of PDP Southwest Chairmanship but no rift between Makinde and Ex- Governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose, saying that the viral pieces of information that the later was challenging the PDP leadership of Southwest with the former was a mere propaganda and fabricated news.

On allegation by Elder Wole Oyelese that Uche Secondus was the one fanning ember of discord between the duo, Olopoeniyan said it was his opinion, adding that it would have been better, if Oyelese had conducted his investigation before coming to public to allege anybody.

He enjoined those who are conspiring against the PDP and its chieftains to desist from such henceforth.
