The Chieftain of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Oyo State has hailed Dr. Saka Balogun led Reconciliation Committee over thoroughness and meticulosity that culminated into presentation of fruitful and unbiased report.

Ashipa in his analysis of the report being presented to Governor Seyi Makinde commended all members of Oyo PDP Reconciliation Committee for their efforts that brought in a fruitful report.

According to him,”Let me right from the beginning commend the efforts, thoroughness and meticulosity the Members of the Committee put into their written Report. The Committee Chairman, Secretary and other distinguished Members covered all the strata of frictions and grudges bedeviling the Oyo state pdp and the Coalition that railroad the Seyi Makinde pdp led administration into power. . Not only that, the Reconciliation Committee also proffered plausible solutions that if properly and genuinely effected could propel the Makinde administration and the pdp beyond 2027. I want to appreciate you all and pray, hopefully, that may your efforts be conmensurately crowned in not too distant future. Amen”.

“Since the past 8 days, I have been busy reading the Report for more than 5 times over and over again. This is to give me more grasp and understanding of the purport of the Report rather than the semantics. The Report was a brilliant piece: precise, concise, straight-forward for an ‘old-skul’ as me to assimilate. And without taking sides between the power that be and the aggrieved, the presentation was a master stroke. The aspect I wish to discuss and analyse this morning is the brief of His Excellency, Egnr Seyi Makinde, to the Reconciliation Committee”.

“The governor indicated three main categories of possible complainants”.

“The first group His Excellency identified are “some leaders of the party who he knew he must have offended for good reasons. Some of these leaders contributed a lot to the success of the party which facilitated the emergence of the PDP administration. But they rightly felt offended when he, as the governor could not agree with them on some critical details of establishing the administration.”
For this open and public admission, His Excellency has shown less ego and therefore should be commended. I love your humbleness and simplicity”.

“Since a head can’t be shaved in the absence of its owner, the Committee rightly recommended in her Report that “We have found that the degree of frustration suffered by some of these leaders would have been mitigated if the governor had made himself available for discussion, explanation and understanding or compromise. Instead, the governor sometimes chose to make himself inaccessible even by not picking telephone calls”.
The ball is now passed over to His Excellency to invite the avenged leaders for a permanent truce. Best wishes to his effort”.

“The second group identified by His Excellency, according to the Report, “are some leaders and members who had an over- bloated assessment of their contribution to the success and emergence of the PDP government and who expected more than can ever be their fair share of government patronage.” I love His Excellency’s bluntness”.

“To express the above in the “Molete Language”, awon t’oja won o to oye t’anpe. Those whose over priced tags aren’t bearing the commensurate qualities of the wares”.

“Who are these over-bloated leaders the governor referenced. The Report failed to ask the question nor enumerate their names. And Mr Gomina has refused to name names. Here I, Ogbeni Elenugboro, am going to help both His Excellency and the Report. But I’ll step on toes”.

“Democracy is a game of number. Would it be correct to assume that those leaders who lost their State Constituencies at the #OyoGuber2019 are the over-bloated leaders. And if my memory hasn’t failed me, the Oyo pdp lost the following 6 State Constituencies. Namely, Afijio, Atiba, OyoE&West, Ogbomosho. Nth, Ogo-Oluwa and Oriire State Constituencies.
Without the fear of stepping on toes, leaders from those lost 6 State Constituencies are in my opinion the over-bloated leaders. But sadly, majority of the so called over-bloated leaders are those His Excellency, Egnr Seyi Makinde, recognised and compensated with sumptuous and juicy appointments”.

“In a situation where leaders who laboured days and nights (eg: IbdNth) to garner heavy ballots for the governor were being denied recognition nor compensation while over-bloated leaders from Afijio, Atiba, OyoE&West, etc were offered top-notch appointments would breed nothing but a whirlwind. I appeal to His Excellency, Egnr Seyi Makinde, to as a matter of urgency correct these anomalies with great alacrity”.

“The third group of complainants identified by His Excellency are “those deliberately planted in our party to disorganise us and cause mischief”.

“In my opinion, if these group of people were active in the party before the general election, the pdp would have performed woefully at the polls. The feasible possibility of this scenario is nill. But if the group reincarnated after the May 29 Inauguration Day, the cause must be the pains experienced by the lopsided appointments pitching the over-bloated leaders against the grassroot leaders”.

“I humbly implore His Excellency to take necessary action that would unite more pdp leaders and members and that would attract more decampees into the umbrella fold”, Ashipa concluded
