The leadership of the Oke-ogun chapter of the All Progressive Congress, APC, of Oyo State has been praised for the steps taken to reconcile the warring factions in the party in a quest to position it for the 2023 general elections.
Speaking with journalists after the general monthly meeting of the party which held in Otu, Itesiwaju Local Government Area, Wednesday, Hon.John Olaleru, a former lawmaker in the State, said the leadership of the party had accepted the task of bringing back unity and love into the party.
The Ilero-born politician sounded optimistic when he said, “with the strong will and the civic disposition of the Oke-ogun leaders, coupled with their level of experience, all the warring factions in the party shall sheath their swords for peace to reign in the party”.
“I have to tell you clearly and this should resonate that with the strong will and the civic disposition of Oke-ogun leaders in this party, coupled with their level of experience, all the warring factions in the party shall sheath their swords for peace to reign in the party.”
“Our discussions at the meeting today, revolved around unity, forgiveness and love and I hail the purpose of our leaders who have been taking genuine steps toward these”.
“Indeed, the leadership of our party is commendable and I’m particularly, impressed by their wisdom in resolving the crisis in the precision to position the party for victory in the future”, Olaleru said.
When asked if ambition of some members in the party might rubbish the begun reconciliation, the lawmaker said he had no doubt in his mind that no aspiration of anyone in the party could bring it down into further crisis.
He noted that the leaders across the two political zones of Oke-ogun are on a frenzied move to instill discipline and loyalty in every member as the fundamentals of any successful organization.
Present at the meeting were leaders drawn from across Oke-ogun among whom were Alh Abu Gbadamosi, Chief Moses Adeyemo, a former Deputy Governor, Mr Razak Arikewu, the Oyo North Senatorial Chairman,Hon. Abiola Shina Peller ,Pa Joseph Adesola Adeleke (from Iganna), former Commissioner for Environment in the State, Chief Isaac Isola, Hon Pastor Thomas Olayode(Itesiwaju), (Alh.) Wasiu Oladimeji Azuzu, former Commissioner for Works, Hon. Isaac Omodewu, former Commissioner for Land, former State Legislators, both former and serving Party Chairmen, both former and serving Council Chairmen.
Also present were Dn Adegboyero Afolabi, Hon. Samuel Egunjobi, Alh. Lekan Kazeem, Hon. Ipadeola Adeniji among others.
Tendering their unreserved apology for not been able to attend this historical meeting were former Minister for Communication, Hon. (Barrister) Abd’Roheem Adebayo Shittu and the current NCC Chairman, Prof. Adeolu Akande.
