A Chieftain of Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) and Ibadan born politician, Baba Ismaila Ashipa has predicted that Governor Seyi Makinde may revisit the murder of former State Chairman of National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Eleweomo against the alleged overbearing influence and political stability of Senator Teslim Kolawole Folarin, who represents Oyo Central Senatorial District in the senate.

Baba Ismaila Ashipa said this in his piece of writing with the title” Reincarnation of Bad Politics In Oyo State”.

According to him,”I won’t be surprised if the present Governor Seyi Makinde pdp led administration in Oyo state revisited the already dead 6.3 billion naira case the Akala regime instituted against his former boss, Senator Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja. Many other forgotten or abandoned cases against political personalities the Makinde administration feels uncomfortable with could be revised and refilled at Oyo state courts any time from now. Why this assumption”.

“Right now, at the pending desk of a state counsel lies the dusted file of a case ref…. The celebrated case tagged “ELEWEOMO” was the charge instituted by the Akala administration against SENATOR Teslim Kolawole Folarin at the heat of the Oyo Central Senatorial Primary Election held in one of the schools in Ona Ara LG of Oyo state”.

“Instruction has been passed from the oysg administration top to the Ministry of Justice to reenact the Eleweomo murder against Folarin. Folarin is seen as a threat to the Seyi Makinde administration. We ll recall that very recently, arsonists disguising as #EndSARS protesters invaded the Oluyole Estate of Folarin to primarily burn down the house. The mansion was only saved when the greedy arsonists changed their mission to rather cart away the about 250million naira empowerment materials found in the building”.

“While we aren’t against the Oyo state Director of Public Prosecution to decide cases that would be beneficial to all concerns, cases that would assure citizens right to equity and justice, we are however disturbed to what or whose benefit is the Eleweomo’s Case to be re presented if not vendetta, vindictiveness and bad belle politics”.

“We are aware that the last Ajimobi led APC administration, an opposition admin against Folarin’s pdp, had thoroughly studied the ELEWEOMO’S CASE in the past and found it frivolously defective. Hence the case was abandoned. The family of the murdered Lateef Eleweomo also at sometime tried to recall the case again but the evidences against their main target, Teslim Folarin, were not convincing and tangible enough for prosecution.
Additiontionally, the full reports from the office of the Director, SSS, Oyo state, exonerating involvement of Folarin in the murder of late Eleweomo made the last admin to forgo the charge”.

“It is now an open secret in the political circle that Governor Seyi Makinde is feeling the heat of 2023 guber election too early. Grapevine indicates that Chief Adebayo Adekola Adelabu, Egnr Joseph Olasunkanmi Tegbe, Chief Niyi Akintola SAN, and all the possibilities in the Oyo state apc that could give adequate opposition to the second term ambition of Makinde are being investigated by the government”.

“Why now and of what and to whose benefit. The time in the 60s when state powers were expended against individual political enemy were gone for good. Bad blood politics of “if you Daboh me I’ll Tarka you” should be discouraged in this 21st century”.

“We wish to advise the Seyi Makinde ‘s administration to concentrate more on how to bring dividends of democracy to the grassroot than hiring enemy of another in the name of politics. Oyo state needs quality education, gainful employments for our youths, rural integration and abundance food production through mechanised farming, and etc”.

“However, to whom the gods want to destroy, they first made mad.
We anxiously await the refilling of the Eleweomo’s Case”, Ashipa asked
