Oyo LG Boss, FM Receives Award On Good Governance As He Makes List of 12 Best Performing LG/LCDA Chairmen In Oyo State

Social Political Advocacy For Good Governance, SPAGG has presented a prestigious award to the Caretaker Chairman of Iseyin South, Local Council Development Area(LCDA), Iseyin Area of Oyo State, Hon. Fasasi Raheem Ajibola FM as he made list of twelve (12) best performing Local Government and LCDA Chairmen in the pacesetter state.

The epoch making event of twelve(12) selected LG/LCDA chairmen out of sixty eight(68) in Oyo State which took place on Wednesday, October 14 at Molete Headquarters of Iseyin South, LCDA was equally coincidental with birthdate occasion of the council boss which comes up on October, 14 of every year.

With reference to SPAGG’s parameters that guaranteed FM’s qualification into the list, he was said to have been graded as follows: Security 75%, Education 55%, Agribusiness 80%, Health 72%, Infrastructure 89%, Youth Engagement 53% and Community Welfare 75% respectively.

The Deputy Director of SPAGG, Hon. Adegboyega Stephen, who spoke on behalf of the Director revealed that the presentation of awards to the carefully selected awardees was not financially nor politically influenced but objectively, fairly, sincerely and justly done.

Bashorun Saint Abbey, the Programme Moderator and Head of Research Documentation to the SPAGG, stressed that the presentation of award to FM at his council area was premised on organization’s acknowledgement and affirmation of convinced notable administrative performances since he had come onboard as the council boss.

Saint Abbey added that FM and other successful LG/LCDA Chairmen in the pacesetter state had no prior knowledge nor notice of the organization’s aim of presenting awards to the selected ones, stressing that it was an objective, fair and thorough job being carried out before arriving at the 12 chairmen who ultimately made the list.

The Head of Research Documentation, said that the organization had via its Director, Yinka Tella carried Governor Seyi Makinde along before the members of the organization swang into action.

In his own admonition, a member of the team, Kareem Adewale Waheed Elefo had enjoined FM to leverage on areas of governance where he scored below 70%, stressing that FM needs to dissipate energy and concerted efforts on Education and Youth Engagement where he scored average marks of 50-55%.

Elefo added that FM performed excellently well in other areas of governance but needs to ensure that things are done to education and youth engagement which he described as priorities which every public office holder should be given the needed and total attention.

In his remarks, FM thanked God Almighty for making him one of the privileged awardees who were rated as the twelve best performing Council Chairmen in the state, saying his appreciation would be incomplete if he fails to acknowledge and make mentioned of Governor Seyi Makinde who necessitated his appointment as the council chairman.

FM lavished encomiums on members of the organisation who regardless of favouritism, nepotism and sentiment carried out an objective task and ultimately arrived at a meaningful conclusion.

The event which held in FM’s office was graced by the Caretaker Chairman of Iganna, LCDA, members of the organisation, the Local Government Staff, PDP Leaders, members and a host of others.

Earlier, FM in celebration of his birthdate visited the Migrant Farmers Primary School at Ojubaba, Iseyin where the Head teacher, Alhaja Toyin Ariyayo, teachers and pupils felicitated him on unique occasion of birthdate and FM in his generosity presented gifts to the teachers and pupils.

The Head teacher described FM as a star, experienced public administrator and notable politician who knows where the shoes pinch the people.

With strict adherence to tradition, FM in his usual practice on occasion of his birthdate visited and celebrated with the physically challenged students at Special School for the handicaps located at Adoawaye-Iseyin road, the students rejoiced, prayed and wished FM many happy returns.
