Ojetunde Emerges Oyo ANCOPSS President

Pastor Ojetunde Abraham Mojisola has emerged the President of All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools(ANCOPSS), Oyo State Chapter.

His emergence and swearing-in exercise was acknowledged and ratified by the outgoing president(Mr Ajadi Emmanuel Akinsola) and others at ANCOPSS’ 38th congress held at Lagelu Grammar School, Agugu, Ibadan on Wednesday 2nd September, 2020.

While speaking with Khalid Imran, Editor, naijatodaynews.com in his office at ISMOG Community Grammar School, Okeho on procedure that necessitated his emergence, Ojetunde revealed that his acceptability of candidature was unanimously ratified by the State Executive Body at the last congress held in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State.

Stressing that it was no noisy but matured and consensus based election which requires cooperation and inclusiveness of those that matter before endorsement would be made.

On journey so far, Ojetunde who is also the principal of ISMOG Grammar School, Okeho said it was a journey which started in January of this year after he had been hinted by his Bloc and Zonal Chairman of Oke-Ogun Central, Chief Sanni Waheed Bolanle that a notable post would be vacant at the state level.

He added that he was happy that his candidature was accepted by all at all zonal levels based on internal campaigns that his zonal chairman (Sanni) and others convincingly did for him.

On programmes to implement while assuming office, Ojetunde who hails from IlajiOke, Kajola Local Government Area of the sate, said apart from the fact that he was naturally blessed for training of personnel, he would expedite all the necessary actions which would be gearing towards the engagement in capacity building for all principals, stressing that, its effectiveness would develop them in terms of management, administration, finance and others.

He added that there shall be support and cooperation with governments in their laudable programmes, saying that cooperation becomes important and necessary so as to justify the appellation of pacesetter.

Ojetunde said that ANCOPSS is neither a Trade Union nor Labour Congress but a professional body that needs mutual and cordial relationship with government so as to achieve the prime motives of excellence, feats and over all notable achievements in education sector.

He said that his predecessors had tried all what they could on areas of smooth transition and others, stressing that more efforts and advocacy need to be gearing towards funds’ availability, landed properties’ development, vehicles’ overhauling, convenient mobility and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) compliance.

Ojetunde called on all predecessors, Bloc Leaders and other members of executive to rally round him for notable pieces of advice that are useful to make ANCOPSS greater and catapult it to an enviable height.

He lavished encomiums on Governor Seyi Makinde’s led government for his firm priority in education and most importantly his readiness to pay the teachers as when due cum certain percentage of budgetary allocation to education of pacesetter state.

He advised the students to be focused, diligent and serious in their academic pursuit, saying their background is not the reason for their back to be on the ground.
