PROJECTS’ EXECUTION: Makinde Believes Not In Favouritism, Nepotism — FM

The Caretaker Chairman, Iseyin South, Local Council Development Area of Oyo State, Hon. Fasasi Raheem Ajibola FM has described Governor Seyi Makinde as someone who has no belief in favouritism and nepotism over execution of laudable projects and extension of dividends of democracy to all and sundry.

FM made this accolade while appearing at  Oke-Ogun FM, 96.3 on a programme centres on Activities and Struggles of Local Government Chairmen in Oke-Ogun axis of the state.

He said Makinde had no interest in giving favouritism and nepotism to all programmes and laudable projects he intends to execute across the state but his firmness is premised on fairness, equity and justice.

While speaking on priorities of the state government, FM disclosed that Makinde has swung into action on how the lives and properties would be totally secured in the pacesetter state, adding that when he(FM) was fed with information of alleged ISIS terrorists’ invasion in Oke-Ogun coupled with abduction of yet to be identified man in Iganna LCDA, he and other stakeholders in the region approached the Special Adviser on Security to Governor of the State, Mr Fatai Owoseni and he advised them on steps to be taken to checkmate the menace of insecurity in the region.

To further ensure that the security is guaranteed in Iseyin South LCDA and Oke-Ogun in general , he revealed that monthly security meeting has become significant when the  Law Enforcement Agents(LEAs) like Police, Civil Defense Corps, Operation Burst and others are always in attendance.

FM added that Makinde had also prioritised agric business when all the Local Government Chairmen in partnership with International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) were asked  to secure thirty (30) hectares of land in each LG Area, for agricultural purpose in order to make food available to the people.

FM equally spoke on Makinde’s efforts on attainment of quality education in the state and part of struggle to achieve that, was his ability to make free education compulsory across the public schools in the state, adding that he(FM) had also complemented the government’s efforts with introduction of free jamb lesson at the local levels.

He also praised the governor for embarking on rebuilding of Akesan market in Oyo, laudable projects at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, Iseyin-Ibadan and Iseyin-Ogbomoso roads among others.

FM has not forgotten to emphasise the impact of the governor on health and perfect wellness of the people of the state, stressing that Makinde has earmarked and committed  three hundred million naira(#300m) to School of Nurse and Midwifery in Kisi, Oorelope Local Government Area of the state.

He appealed to people of the state regardless of political affiliations and platforms to be patient and peaceful with Makinde whom he described as  God sent to indigenes and entire inhabitants, adding that he had started with fulfilment of promises made during the electioneering campaigns and he would do more to make dividends of democracy available to all and sundry.

On development of Oke-Ogun axis of the state, FM admonished all daughters and sons of the soil to look beyond politics in developing the region, stressing that politics of bitterness, acrimony, sentiment and conservatively cum progressively acclaimed philosophy could not yield positive results.

He called on those that matter in the region to come together, close ranks and fast track laudable projects capable of developing the place so as to compete favourably with other zones in the state and beyond.
