Ogbomoso born philanthropy and Politician, Akinwole Samuel Akinwale Wolekanle has said that his defection from All Progressive Congress (APC) to Peoples Democratic Party was premised on notable achievements that Governor Seyi Makinde had attained within his shortest period of assumption of office.
Wolekanle disclosed this while fielding questions with journalists shortly after his courtesy visit to Governor’s office, Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State.
Wolekanle who hails from Ogbomoso North Local Government Area of Oyo State stressed that his exit from APC was unequivocally owing to Governor Makinde’s style of governance and his readiness to optimally fulfill the promises made during the electioneering campaigns.
Ogbomoso born philanthropy said that it was extremely obvious that Engr Seyi Makinde had delivered on the electoral promises made within the shortest period of his assumption of office as Executive Governor of Oyo State.
He promised that he would try everything in his own capacity to makesure that PDP becomes stronger in Ogbomoso, adding that other political gladiators in the geopolitical zone of the state would soon defect to the ruling party in the pacesetter state.
While speaking earlier, the Special Assistant on Political Matter and Strategy, Babatunde Oduyoye has commended the defector for his ability and readiness to identify with the good work of Engr Seyi Makinde, stressing that it is a good move that Akinwole Samuel Akinwale could identify with PDP at this material time that party is trying to solidify its base and structures in Ogbomoso axis of Oyo State.
Oduyoye added that Ogbomoso remains an integral part of the state which no political party can take for granted, sequel to its unique nature of politics and firm understanding of the game.
He said that Engr Seyi Makinde had begun with execution of infrastructural developments which are line with the promises made during the electioneering campaigns.
Oduyoye stressed that the Governor had been briefed about Wolekanle’s defection to the ruling party and promised that there shall be a mega rally when Covid-19 is over.
In his own contribution, the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Seyi Makinde, Taiwo Adisa welcomed Wolekanle to the ruling and prayed that his defection to the party would no doubt bring more notable fortunes to the party and state at large.
While extolling the achievements of Engr Seyi Makinde, Adisa said that the Governor has been doing all his best in all facets of government to ensure that the promises made while seeking for people’s mandate are fulfilled.
He said Makinde’s current administration had the outlook of the late sage, Chief Obafemi Awolowo whose achievements and legacy could not be easily forgotten, stressing that relentless efforts are in top gear to ensure that the state’s Internal Generated Revenue(IGR) is improved and subsequently compete with what Lagos and Ogun States are generating.
Hon. Temilola Adibi, Chairman Oyo State Signage and Advertising Agency (OYSAA) has equally welcomed Wolekanle to the party and described him as a humble person, notable philanthropy and politician whose impact and influence cannot be taken for granted in Ogbomoso.
Adibi eulogised Wolekanle for identifying with PDP and Makinde whom he described as messiah who knows where the shoe pinches the people of the state.
Wolekanle was accompanied to the Governor’s office by the public office holders friends, politicians, pres men and others.
