A Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogbomoso North Local Government, Hon Martins Iyanda, has described the rantings of some unscrupulous elements in the All Progressives Congress (APC) against Hon Akinwale Akinwole’s (Wolekanle) recent defection into the PDP as inconsequential.

Iyanda who is the chairman in Ward 9 Osupa where Wolekanle and his supporters crossed the carpet to said their reactions is evidence that they are not only jittery but already mourning the loss that awaits them in the subsequent elections.

Speaking with Journalists on Sunday, he said, “We are happy that such a bigwig who has been a strong pillar of support for their party and all and sundry came into the PDP when he realised that the APC, which claims to be a progressive party is nothing but a party where deceit and unchecked crisis reign supreme.”

“The eight years of the APC rule in Oyo State has brought nothing meaningful to Ogbomoso but over-bloated ego and poorly executed dual carriage road without any consideration for the people.

“Today, we are privy to have a Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, who is passionate about the people’s wishes and laying a solid foundation for the future of the state. Most of the people who cried during the APC days are now smiling because Governor Makinde has restored their hope.

“Wolekanle is a philanthropist whose contributions to the Ogbomoso land and Oyo State, in particular, cannot be underestimated. They wanted him to stay back in the APC so as to continue to milk him and waste his time, using deceitful tactics to jeopardise his bright political chances in the PDP.

His coming into the PDP is a blessing. So, those who are disgruntled should be ignored because they have no political values.
