The Caretaker Chairman, Iseyin South Local Council Development Area, Iseyin Area of Oyo State, Hon. Abdul-Raheem Ajibola FM has described the Governor of the state, Engr Seyi Makinde as a true democrat whose involvement and intervention in the legal tussle being instituted by the Association of Local Government of Nigeria(ALGON), Oyo State Chapter over the rightful and constitutional occupiers of the local government secretariats is noteworthy and commendable.
FM while speaking with Khalid Imran, Editor, naijatodaynews.com at his office in Molete, Iseyin shortly after the dispensation of justice by the Court of Appeal, Ibadan Division on Wednesday 15th July and affirmation of State Government’s right to dissolve the elected chairmen in all the Local Governments and existing Local Council Development Areas(LCDAs) in the pacesetter state, FM described Makinde as a true democrat whose involvement in the legal tussle is line with tenets, principles and decorum that uphold and guide the nascent democracy.
FM said Makinde allowed the smooth proceedings of the legal tussle from the lower court to appeal to go in line with what democracy dictates at the expense of his position as the executive governor of the state, stressing that if it were others, they would have used the resources at their disposal and influence to buy and influence the judgement.
The Council Chairman said that Makinde has proved his critics and political adversaries that the beauty of democracy is premised on ability and insistence to abide with its tenets and principles uncompromisingly.
FM said that Makinde stood by what he believes in true practice of principled democracy right from commencement of the litigation and fails to compromise nor influence it till judgement was dispensed by the Appeal Court.
FM felicitated the Governor, the legal team and cabinet members for their unflinching support that stands on fact that the true justice prevailed.
On dedication of victory, FM dedicated the victory obtained at the appeal court to the good people of Oyo State who are praying fervently for the success and unprecedented achievements of Engr Seyi Makinde.
He stressed that Makinde’s led adminstration would not relent in fulfilling the promises made during the electioneering campaigns despite the negative effects of the ravaging coronavirus pestilence.
FM reiterated that PDP led adminstration in Oyo State would makesure it brings more dividends of democracy to all and sundry.
He enjoined people to continue supporting the government and never ceased in praying to achieve the notable feats.
