The sacked Association of Local Government of Nigeria, Oyo chapter is set to approach the Supreme court of Nigeria after the Appeal court sitting in Ibadan has delivered a judgement against them.

The Appeal Court of Nigeria had upheld the sack of Oyo LG Chairmen today, Wednesday.

According to a post on social media (Facebook) which was confirmed by Prince Gbade Lana of Ibadan East LCDA. He confirmed the post to Double A Exclusive as the official position of Oyo ALGON.

The post reads, “Appeal court delivers judgement partially as Oyo ALGON heads to Supreme Court.”

However, there seems to be contradiction over this new development as the state APC says they are waiting for legal advice while on the other hand ALGON is set to proceed to Supreme Court.

The All Progressive Congress, Oyo chapter in a statement signed by the publicity secretary, Dr. Azeez Olatunde revealed that the party awaits the legal team advice before any further action will be taken.

The press statement reads, “The judgement of the court of Appeal in the unconstitutional and illegal dissolution of the Elected Local Government Administration in Oyo State of Wednesday 15th July 2020 would be given to Oyo State APC Legal Team for scrutiny when received.

“Thereafter, the Oyo State APC would await the Legal advice on the next step and way forward.

“APC Oyo State has been known for peace and as such would counsel all APC members in Oyo State to go about their endeavours peacefully and await the next step to be taken in line with the advice of our team of Legal experts.”
