As part of his one year in office activities, the Speaker Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin commissioned Primary Healthcare Center in his constituency.

The healthcare facility which was located Lagaye, Eruwa Ibarapa East Local government, was built and commissioned earlier today by Ogundoyin for the benefit of the rural dwellers.

Speaking at the occasion, Ogundoyin noted that standard Healthcare facilities are inevitable in the needs of every community, especially rural and farm settlement community like Lagaye which cities’ residents rely on for food security.

“During our campaign last year, I noticed that most of health facilities here in our local government are kilometers away from our villages and small communities. Imagining a pregnant woman in labour and still have to travel miles on motorcycle or something to deliver. Or someone had injury on the farm and no health center to offer emergency medical service.

“These are the daily hardship our people go through. That is why I commenced this project last year for the benefit of Lagaye residents and their neighbouring communities and villages. I thank God we completed this in the first year in office.

“Interesting, Governor Seyi Makinde mentioned it during our last plenary where he honoured our invitation for the one year in office, that at least one Primary Healthcare center per Ward will be renovated, equipped and functional to standard across the State.

“I am happy it is coming this time and we are going to be handing over this facilities to the local government, department in charge will handle it and it will be opened for service immediately,” he added.

Speaking on behave of the community, the Baale of Lagaye and former Senator Oyo South Senatorial District, Chief Peter Adeyemo commended Ogundoyin for the thought concern he has for the people.

He said, “What the Speaker did is impressive. He promised to deliver the five Wards modern Healthcare Center in a year and he did. We are happy and grateful to him.

“I charge Mr. Speaker to continue the good work and also consider intensifying efforts in rehabilitating our rural roads to enhance movement of agricultural produces.”
