COVID-19: Oyo Deputy Govr Appreciates First Bank Of Nig As CACOVID Donated Equipment Needed At Saki Isolation Center

The Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Engr Rauf Remi Olaniyan has lavished encomiums on First Bank of  Nigeria PLC for spearheading Coalition Action Covid-19(CACOVID) whose aims and objectives centre on provision of the needed equipment and financial resources to states so as to curtail and contain the pestilence across the nation.

In his speech delivered on behalf of the Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde on the occasion of handing over of hospital equipment by CACOVID to Oyo State Government on Friday, June 5th.Olaniyan appreciated Cacovid under the generosity of First Bank of Nigeria PLC for deeming it fit and thought wise to donate the hospital equipment to Oyo State Government at this trying time that the state is battling with coronavirus pestilence, adding that the equipment would be judiciously and medically utilized to curtail and contain the virus that is ravaging the state.

Olaniyan eulogized the State Taskforce on Covid-19 for its relentless efforts and sleeplessness to get rid and nip coronavirus pandemic in the bud, stressing that there was no gainsaying in the fact that coronavirus pandemic is real but the Taskforce was not leaving any stone unturned to eradicate the virus.

Olaniyan said that the state had been proactive and diligent in curtailing and containing the pandemic, adding that parts of the measures to eradicate the virus were the creation of EOC at 8 pillars, Isolation Centres across all zones of the state and facilities for community testing across the state for early detection and free treatment.

The MD/ CEO, First Bank of Nigeria and Subsidiary, Dr Adeduntan who was represented by Cacovid Team Leader, Dr Timothy Arowoogun said that the donated hospital equipment to Oyo State Government were meant for Saki Infectious Diseases and Isolation Centre where people at the grassroot levels with confirmed and detected symptoms of coronavirus pestilence would be taken care of.

Arowoogun who spoke on behalf of First Bank’s CEO and as Cacovid Team Leader disclosed that he appreciated the pacesetter government for demonstrating toughness in curtailing and containing the pandemic, adding that they were pleased and satisfied with the measures and procedures taken by the state government to fight the pandemic.

In Arowoogun’s admonition, he enjoined all and sundry to adhere strictly with the preventive and hygienic measures to eradicate the ravaged pandemic.

While speaking on behalf of State Taskforce on Covid-19, Professor Temitope Alonge and Ex Chief Medical Director of UCH, Ibadan thanked First Bank of Nigeria for being a strong partner in the fight against the ravaged pandemic, adding that FBN’s initial assessment of Oyo State’s concept had eventually culminated in donation of hospital equipment to nail the virus as he affirmed that the equipment would facilitate the commissioning of Saki Infectious Diseases and Isolation Centre.

In his appreciation, Oyo State Commissioner for Health, Dr BVA Bello thanked FBN, Engr Seyj Makinde and other stakeholders who stand firmly to ensure the coronavirus pestilence is curtailed and contained in Oyo State and Nigeria at large.

He called on all and sundry to know that the virus is real and the only way to curb its spread is to take obey the government’s laws on Covid-2
19 in the state and Nigeria as a whole
