COVID-19: Alumni Fellow Of Anaesthesia Department Donates Equipment And Consumables To Alma Mater

Alumni Fellows of Anaesthesia Department of the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, Oyo State now living and practising in the United Kingdom have donated some equipment and consumables to the hospital in order to enhance the fight to suppress the coronavirus pandemic.

The Hospital’s Covid-19 Media Team in its release personally issued and made available to Naija Today News on Friday, May 29th said that the items include:
Coverall protective shoe with head cover and shoe cover, Coverall medical protective isolation gown, Disposable surgical gown, Protective leg boots,N95 respirator masks,Face Shields, Elbow-length sterile surgical gloves, Surgical face masks, Goggles, Hand sanitizers,Headcover and spraying can respectfully.

“Similarly, the ’96 set of the School of Nursing of the UCH (SONUCHI) donated packs of conform gloves to the hospital towards subduing the spread of COVID 19 disease”.

“Furthermore, the Geoscape Limited contributed Cover-up gowns (reusable), Safety goggles and Face masks (clothes) to the fight against the deadly pandemic”.

“The Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the Hospital, Prof. Jesse Abiodun Otegbayo received the items on behalf of the Board, Management, Staff and Students of the Hospital.
The CMD said he was pleased to receive the donations especially from the alumni who gave back to institution that produced them and noted that more are still being expected from others that trained in UCH”

“Prof. Otegbayo thanked the Geoscape Limited for the donation and urged other corporate bodies to emulate them”.

“As at the close of business on Thursday, 28th May, 2020, the hospital has kept faith to high hygiene standards and did not have new case of COVID 19”.

“The University College Hospital, Ibadan has been playing the leading role in combating the spread of the coronavirus, and will continue to render excellent care and services to all our patients”.

“The Hospital equally enjoins everyone to adhere to the required infection prevention and control measures prescribed by the WHO and the NCDC, such as physical distancing, regular hand washing, use of hand sanitizers & face masks.
