As complete 30 days of Ramadan mark the commencement of Islamic new month(Shawwal).The Caretaker Chairman, Iseyin South, Local Council Development Area(LCDA), Iseyin, Oyo State, Hon. And’Raheem Ajibola has congratulated the muslims across the globe on successful completion of Ramadan.
While urging them to use the auspicious occasion of Eid-El-Fitri to pray fervently against the coronavirus pandemic that is ravaging the world.
FM in a felicitation message on Muslims’ festive occasion that he personally signed and made available to Naija Today News, expressed gratitude to Muslims in LCDA, Iseyin Local Government, Oyo State and Nigeria as a whole for being steadfast despite the situations imposed on the nation by Covid-19 pandemic.
On admonition, FM enjoined the muslims to use the auspicious occasion of the festive period to engage in supplications and fervent prayers meant for one another, state and most importantly against the pernicious disease that is ravaging the globe.
On importance of Ramadan, FM said that the holy month of Ramadan had come and gone but its firm teachings should not depart us as the month ended.
FM reiterated that the ended month of Ramadan teaches muslims to feel pains and predicament of those who are battling with challenges of hunger, famine and starvation, adding that, as Ramadan leaves, people should not stop in giving to the needy and poor who cannot boast of daily consumption.
Also, FM stressed that the month prohibits us from engaging in backbiting, making defamatory and unguarded statements against one another, he enjoined all Muslims and other adherents to henceforth refrain from such illicit acts as Ramadan said good bye.
On directives from Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), which compelled all Muslims to pray in their respective homes so as to prevent the further spread of Covid-19, FM enjoined the concerned Islamic adherents to obey the directives, stressing that only the living souls could worship God.
On governments’ concerted efforts to contain and curtail the deadly disease, FM advised people across the state to adhere strictly to social distancing, preventive and hygienic measures against the spread of the virus.
He added that if all should comply with government’s directives on Covid-19 laws, there is every possibility that coronavirus pestilence could be curtailed and eradicated completely.
FM called on all and sundry to pray for Governor Seyi Makinde led administration in the state,stressing that a leader with love and passion to extend dividends of democracy to all the nooks and crannies of Oyo State should be assisted with prayers.
