The Caretaker Chairman, Kajola Local Government, Area of Oyo State, Hon.(Alh.) Afolabi Salimon Borikansunwon has congratulated muslims across the globe on successful completion of Ramadan.
While sending his congratulatory message on auspicious occasion of Eid-El- Fitri and ushering them into new Islamic month (Shawwal), Borikansunwon in his interaction with Khalid Imran, Editor, Naija Today News on Eid-El-Fitri celebration, expressed gratitude to God Almighty on successful completion of Ramadan, grace and perseverance to bear with the ended holy month.
He felicitated Muslims in Kajola LG, Oyo State and Nigeria at large on
celebration of the festive period and blissful arrival into another new month of Islam.
While speaking on importance of Ramadan and its teachings, Borikansunwon expatiated that the ended islamic month while it lasted brought love, unity and togetherness among Islamic adherents and counterparts in other religions, stressing that the mutual and cordial relationship that reigned while Ramadan lasted should not be jettisoned after its exit.
He added that the month of blessing taught people to persevere with hunger and equally made them feel how people with no foods nor other consumable items feel, he admonished them to cater for the needy and poor, having just gone through the pains.
Borikansunwon stressed that people should completely abstain from illicit acts that are characterised as backbiting, adultery, fornication and unguarded statements, saying when they could not engage in those illicit acts during Ramadan, there is no need to return to those things after ramadan.
In another development, he admonished the muslim ummah to use the auspicious occasion of the ongoing celebration to pray against coronavirus pandemic that is ravaging the world.
He stressed that prayers and supplications are needed at this trying time, so as to eradicate the virus and other life-threatening diseases disturbing the well being and other important aspects of life.
Borikansunwon called on all and sundry to adhere strictly to governments’ directives on lockdown that is triggered by Covid-19 pestilence.
He advised all and sundry to comply with WHO’s protocols , preventive and hygienic measures to curtail and contain the prevalent pandemic.
On good governance in Oyo State, Borikansunwon assured that Governor Seyi Makinde led administration in the state would continue to bring dividends of democracy to the nooks and crannies, encouraging people to throw their weight behind him as all electioneering promises would be delivered in due time.
Borikansunwon pledged to reciprocate the governor’s blueprints at the grassroots, assuring that all promises made when he was inaugurated would be completely fulfilled.
