The UI/COM Physiotherapy Class of 1998 has thrown its weight behind the Hospital’s fight against the spread of the deadly and highly contagious Coronavirus disease as some alumni of the set led by the Dr. Olubukola Olaleye, donated some consumables to the hospital.
In a UCH Update’s release personally signed by the Hospital’s Covid-19 Media Team and made available to Naija Today News on Sunday, May 24th said, “the items included N95 face masks, hand gloves and bottles of hand sanitizers”.
“Similarly, president of the Ibadan College of Medicine Alumni Association (ICOMAA), worldwide Prof. Fatai Adeniyi donated face masks and hand sanitizers to the Hospital”.
“While receiving the items, the Chairman Medical Advisory Committee of the Hospital, Dr. Victor Akinmoladun, on behalf of the Chief Medical Director, Prof. Jesse Abiodun Otegbayo expressed the belief that the group’s commitment to supporting the hospital will be of immense help in this trying time”.
“He thanked the donors and promised that the items will be put to the best of use”.
“Dr. Akinmoladun also urged other alumni groups to emulate the gestures of the ’98 set by giving back to the hospital”.
“As at the close of business on Saturday, 23rd May, 2020, no new case was reported in the hospital”.
“The University College Hospital, Ibadan has been playing the leading role in combating the spread of the coronavirus, and will continue to render excellent care and services to all our patients”.
“The Hospital equally enjoins everyone to adhere to the required infection prevention and control measures prescribed by the WHO and the NCDC, such as physical distancing, regular hand washing, use of hand sanitizers and face masks”.
“We will continue to update the public accordingly”and equally admonished all and sundry to stay safe
