COVID-19: Oyo War Against Hunger Foundation Makes Second Phase’s Distribution Of Palliatives To Orphans, Widows

 A Charitable Foundation named ‘War Against Hunger’ in Kajola Local Government, Area of Oyo State has made the second phase of palliatives’ distribution to orphans and widows possible.

The possibility of second phase of relief materials’ distribution to the needy and selected orphans and widows in the community took place at Ustadh Qassim Awelenje’s Quarters, MTD Barrack, Okeho on Friday, May 22nd.

In War Against Hunger Foundation’s mission and motive  to prevent hunger, reduction of starvation and famine among the less privileged people and most importantly the financially incapable orphans and widows, the food items of different varieties were distributed among the selected beneficiaries.

With strict adherence to government’s directives of social distancing and hygienic measures against the coronavirus pestilence, the participants and beneficiaries were partitioned on batch basis for the receipt of those relief packages.

Hundred(100) beneficiaries were randomly selected across six wards:Ogan/Bode, Ashi-Pamo, Oke-Ogun/Ogbinte, Isemi-Ilua, Isia and Gbonje-Olele that make Kajola Local Government of the state.

In beneficiaries’ appreciation, Mrs Abd’Salam Mariam Adeeyo, a widow from ward 04, thanked the coordinators of the foundation over their selfless and painstaking efforts to care for the orphans,widows and other needy in the community.

Mrs Oyeleye Sariyu, another beneficiary from ward 05, said she was grateful to God and the foundation for counting her among the beneficiaries of the consumable items, praying that God would continue to be their guide and guard.

Also, Alhaja Sariyu  Sanni, from ward 07 acknowledged the sincerity and faithfulness of the foundation’s coordinators in managing the resources entrusting to their care, she admonished them to continue as God will reward them in many folds.

Mrs Amosun Felicia, ward08 lauded them for their initiative against hunger and poor standard of living among the downtrodden, she prayed God to maintain and sustain the foundation everlastingly.

In an exclusive interaction with Khalid Imran, Editor, Naija Today News. The Chairman of War Against Hunger Foundation, Ustadh Yaqub Busari Awelenje disclosed that the possibility of second phase’s distribution of relief items was sequel to concerted efforts and eagerness to reach out to people for sustainability of the foundation and attainment of its mission.

Awelenje added that the mission of the foundation stood on prevention of hunger, reduction of starvation and famine among the less privileged ones and downtrodden in the community and society at large.

In his own words, Ustadh Adam Busari Awelenje, Foundation’s Coordinator, also added that anybody with intention not to make his/her  occasion or events  ceremonial but wishes to give out to the needy and poor should please reach out to the foundation, adding that they would not refrain from justice, fairness and equity in allocating those items to the targeted consumers and users.

Awelenje commended the donors for passion and enthusiasm to feel the pains and predicaments of the orphans, widows, handicaps and others, praying that their pockets of wealth would never dry.

He lauded other members of the team for their commitment, dedication and readiness to attain the mission of the foundation, adding that they would not be deprived of benefits that God promises he who cares for orphans and widows, here and hereafter.
