Oyo Holds First Ever Labour Unity Cup — NLC, NUJ, TUC Disclose

The Labour Unions in Oyo State which are Nigerian Labour Congress, Trade Union Congress, Nigeria Union of Journalists and others are to participate keenly contest in a football competition starting on Tuesday, March 10 and rounds off on May 1st.
Disclosure was made at a Press Conference held at Dapo Aderogba Hall, NUJ Press Centre, Iyaganku, Ibadan and jointly addressed by Ademola Babalola, Chairman Oyo NUJ, Comrade Bayo Titilola Sodo, President NLC, Oyo State and Mayowa Falegbe, Secretary TUC respectively.
In his words, Ademola Babalola said, “this is the first time something like this is coming  and it enable us to know one another and as well promotes unity”.
Comrade Sodo disclosed that event like this would not only promote unity but prevent insecurities that are characterized as terrorism, kidnappings, armed robberies and others respectively.
Comrade Mayowa Falegbe also expressed hope that the event would facilitate tremendous results as Engr Seyi Makinde would definitely key into the programme because it promotes peace and unity as one of his administrative agenda.
The organiser of the programme, Comrade Adeoye of Nito Communication said that the registration of teams commencing with immediate effect and the final would come up on May 1st, after the international workers’ day where trophies and medals will be presented to the winners .
Adeoye maintained that no team will be allowed to hire machineries and all players must under no condition abstain from medical examination which must be certified ok before they would be allowed.
Some of the executive members of the current government in the state were in attendance where they disclosed what Governor Seyi Makinde led administration had done since assumption of office and what the masses should expect in the coming years.
