NCS Area Controller(Oyo/Osun) Command Visits GOC 2Div Nig Army.

The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 2 Division Nigerian Army, Major General Anthony Bamidele Omozoje received the Nigerian Custom Service Area Controller Oyo/Osun States Command, Comptroller Uche Ngozi at the Headquarters 2 Division Nigerian Army, Adekunle Fajuyi Cantonment, Ojo Ibadan.

In a statement released by the Deputy Director Army Public Relations
2 Div Nigerian Army, Col Hassan Ifijeh Mohammed stated that “the Area Controller said the purpose of her visit was to collaborate with the Nigerian Army and 2 Division in particular in areas of security as it concerns the Nigerian Custom Service mandate in her Area of Responsibility – Oyo/Osun states.

According to the Area Controller, timely information and intelligence sharing is vital to her success in the execution of her mandate and so therefore needed the cooperation of the GOC.
She pleaded with the GOC to please continue to partner with her in combating smuggling related crimes.

The General Officer Commanding in his response expressed delight in receiving the Nigerian Custom Service Area Controller at the Headquarters 2 Division. According to the GOC, there is a close link between the mandate of the Nigerian Custom Service and that of the Nigerian Army.

He described the Nigerian Custom Service as the first line of defence in national security. He further stressed that the Nigerian Custom Service are the frontline, and key, to the success of Nigerian Army mandate. Therefore he assured the Nigerian Custom Service Area Controller of 2 Division continues support in securing the borders within her Area of Reponsibility.


Stressing the importance of Nigerian Custom Service, the GOC 2 Division described the activities of the Nigerian Custom Service as vital to the growth of the nation’s economy. He noted that Nigerian Army played a vital role in the establishment of the Nigerian Custom Service Staff College in Abuja.
