The former Minister of Communication, Barrister Bayo Shittu has described the embattled National Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole and former governor of Oyo State, Abiola Ajimobi as birds of the same feathers, unjust and corrupt leaders who should not be allowed acting as the current chairman and South West, Deputy National Chairman of the acclaimed progressive party.

While fielding questions as a guest at a programme anchored by the likes of Isaac Brown, Dare Adekambi and Ademola Babalola of Fresh FM, Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State on Saturday, 7th March,2020, on a programme tagged “Political Circuit” The Ex-Communication Minister lamented that Oshiomhole remained an unjust and corrupt leader who should no longer be allowed and found in capacity of national chairmanship of APC.
While narrating the atrocities that the national chairman has committed, Shittu said Oshiomhole remained an unjust and corrupt leader who gives no room for firmness and upholding of party’s constitutional provisions but his adherence to self centeredness, favouritism, nepotism and material gains at the expense of what progressive party firmly stands for.
Shittu said Oshiomhole disqualified him to contest for Oyo gubernatorial election in 2019 general elections sequel to his failure to observe NYSC’s programme but allowed victims of same offence who are former Governor of Oyo State, Abiola Ajimobi and Dapo Abiodun to contest for Oyo South Senatorial District and Ogun State gubernatorial elections respectively.
In his furtherance, Shittu said nobody would have known that Oshiomhole had committed grievous offences and acted terribly against the notable people in the progressive platform until he was recently suspended by the Federal High Court in Abuja, adding that his confession to please Rotimi Amaechi against Senator Magnus Abe in Rivers State, Mallam Nasir against Senator Sheu Sanni in Kaduna State, Abubakar Badaru of Jigawa State and others was no doubt a criminal indictment.
On alleged purported adoption of Abiola Ajimobi as South West, Deputy National Chairman of APC was no doubt an attempt that could easily doom the party in the zone, adding that the beneficiary of the portfolio had no impeccable character and integrity to handle the post and draw people closer to the progressive fold.
Shittu said, that the National Working Committe of APC wrote a letter on 27th January,2020 to the South West Executives of the party that the vacant position of Zonal Deputy National Chairman needed to be fixed, added that the emergency meeting was fixed and held in Lagos on 31st,January and same on 4th February where no meaningful resolutions were met on candidature of the person to fill the vacancy.
He said , he was surprised to have heard Oshiomhole pronouncing that Ajimobi had been adopted since 14th January, 2020 which he said Ajimobi’s alleged purported adoption generated controversial, acrimonious feelings and issuance of different questions from all that matter in the party across the South West Geo-Political Zone.
Shittu lamented that when a leader like Oshiomhole was behaving like a double standard person, adding that he should no longer be entrusted with affairs of the party at the national level.
On total rejection of Oyo APC and the gubernatorial candidate of the party, Bayo Adelabu in the last general elections, Shittu said Ajimobi’s high handedness, greedy, vulgar abuses and dictatorial tendencies were the factors that made the good people of the state to reject the party outrightly.
Shittu said that Oshiomhole and Ajimobi were doing more harms than good to the party at the national and state levels,adding that they were no longer integrity personified to lead the party in those capacities.
