Oyo Lawmaker (OmoSheu) Flags Off Empowerment Program As He Puts Smiles On Over 130 Faces Of Beneficiaries, 70 Others.

The Lawmaker representing Ibadan South East State Constituency One at Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Abdullahi Abdul-Rasaq fondly called ‘OMO SHEU’ has flagged off his empowerment programme, when 134 beneficiaries were engaged in seven(7) varieties of vocational jobs and seventy(70) others went homes with brown envelopes that contained undisclosed amounts of money.


At Empowerment Flag off Programme held on Sunday, 23rd February, 2020 at Omo Sheu’s Constituency Office at Baba Rogo’s Compound, Elekuro Ibadan, Omo Sheu empowered and engaged 134 beneficiaries on 7 varieties of vocational jobs that are characterized as Tailoring, Hairdressing, Computer Literacy, Nylon Cuttings, Barbing, Shoe making and Eyes’ decorations respectively.


The ace and fearless Broadcaster, Alhaji Oriyomo Hamzat was on behalf of Omo Sheu presented 70 brown envelopes that contained undisclosed amounts of money to aged women across the six wards, party leaders, stakeholders, wards’ chairmen, women leaders and youth leaders in the constituency respectively.


At the programme, the beneficiaries were handed over to their masters in 7 varieties of vocational jobs, who are to saddle with responsibilities of imparting the skills and vocational knowledge into them for the next eight (8) months.
In his words, Omo Sheu who is also the Chairman House Committee on Water Resources said that the engaged beneficiaries would be under the tutelage of their masters for the next eight months, adding that he would ensure the procurement of their graduating equipment after their fruitful completion of the training exercises.


He enjoined the beneficiaries to be the good ambassadors of their homes and as well ensure they give their varieties of vocational trainings the priority and attention they deserve.
While appreciating the lawmaker for the kind gesture, two of the beneficiaries who spoke on behalf of others appreciated Omo Sheu for the privilege aimed at alleviating poverty from them and as well improving their standards of living, adding that they would for ever be grateful to him and moreover enjoined him not to stop doing good to all and sundry.


Earlier before the flagging-off of Empowerment Programme, Omo Sheu had in the programme of events distributed to all attendees,listed the numbers of achievements which he had recorded so far.


Amongst them were the priority he had given to education, Sport Development Programme, Infrastructural Facilities and the Motions moved in the Hallowed Chamber which are itemised as: Need for Oyo State Government To Revive All State Libraries, Revival of Sport Programmes At All Oyo State Public Secondary Schools(I.e Governor’s Cup), Need for Renovation of Locked Up Shops At Orita-Aperin Dilapidated Market Ibadan(Orita-Aperin Ibadan) and Urgent Need To Revive Water Project Renovation at( Water Corporation), Asejire Dam Ibadan among others.


The programme was attended by some 9th members of Oyo House of Assembly, Engr. Sulaiman Adesina, the Caretaker Chairman, Ibadan South Local Government, PDP party leaders, stakeholders, youth leaders, women leaders, wards’ chairmen and others respectively.
